Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrienne Hibbert.
Hi Adrienne, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story has been a journey of resilience, reinvention, and learning to embrace the way I see the world differently. I started in sales, where I quickly realized that what I enjoyed most wasn’t just closing deals, but understanding people—what they needed, what motivated them, and how to create solutions that truly fit. That curiosity led me into marketing, where I developed a love for helping brands connect with their audiences in ways that felt authentic and impactful. From there, I transitioned into strategic planning, guiding organizations in building systems and roadmaps that aligned their goals with their growth. Eventually, I found my home in brand strategy and business development, where I could bring all of those skills together to help entrepreneurs and organizations move from vision to execution.
As a Black woman, navigating professional spaces hasn’t always been easy. I’ve often had to prove myself twice over—fighting to be heard, seen, and respected in rooms where representation was scarce. Those experiences, while difficult, shaped my resilience. They taught me the importance of not only advocating for myself, but also creating opportunities and spaces for others who look like me to thrive. That commitment is at the heart of the work I do today.
A pivotal turning point in my journey came when I was diagnosed with ADHD at 37. For years, I wondered why my mind never seemed to move in straight lines—why I thrived in complex, fast-moving environments but sometimes struggled with traditional structures. That diagnosis gave me clarity. I realized that my non-linear thinking, my ability to hold multiple ideas at once, and my knack for seeing connections others might miss weren’t weaknesses—they were my superpowers. ADHD has given me the perspective to help women and business owners move beyond just having ideas into building strategies, systems, and launches that actually work.
Today, I show up in my work as a collaborator, strategist, and partner. I help people grow by leaning into what makes them unique, and I remind them, just as I had to remind myself, that the things that set us apart are often the very things that position us to lead, create, and inspire others.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. At all. I actually started my business during the pandemic, right after leaving a toxic workplace and a toxic boss. For years I had been working 10 to 14 hour days without ever taking time for myself, and when I finally decided to take a leave—the very first leave of my life—it ended up being the best decision I could have made. That pause gave me the clarity and courage to start something of my own.
But my business didn’t take off right away. In the beginning, I took on every client who wanted to work with me because I was in survival mode. And I quickly learned that all money isn’t good money, and all relationships aren’t good relationships. Some of those early experiences taught me hard lessons about boundaries, alignment, and knowing my worth.
Over time, I learned to be more intentional. Once I got clear on the types of businesses and clients I really wanted to serve, I was able to shift from simply surviving to actually thriving. Today, I don’t just take on any project—I take on the ones that allow me to bring my full skillset as a brand strategist and business development consultant to the table. That shift has made all the difference, not just in the success of my business, but in the joy I feel doing the work.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At its core, my work is about helping businesses move from ideas to impact. Through my company, Kindred Spark Consulting, I specialize in brand strategy, business development, and strategic planning. I partner with entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and organizations to uncover their authentic brand voice, define their target audiences, and build systems that actually support their growth.
I’m known for bringing clarity to the chaos. A lot of my clients come to me with brilliant ideas but feel stuck on how to make those ideas real. I help them take a step back, look at the bigger picture, and then break it down into actionable strategies. Whether it’s refining a brand identity, developing a marketing roadmap, developing a new service or product or guiding a team through a complex launch, I bring both the creative vision and the operational structure needed to get results.
What sets me apart is the way I see the world. My late ADHD diagnosis turned what I once thought was a challenge into a strength. My non-linear thinking allows me to make connections others might miss, anticipate challenges before they arise, and guide clients through growth stages with a unique level of empathy and Emotional connection.
I’m most proud of the moments when my clients feel seen and empowered. when they tell me that for the first time, their brand feels aligned with who they are, or that they finally have a strategy that makes sense. Those breakthroughs remind me of why I do this work. I love to transform businesses from simply existing into purpose-driven entities that can grow and make an impact.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is evolution. I don’t believe we are meant to stay the same, and I think as people we often don’t give ourselves, or each other, enough grace to evolve. Growth requires us to make mistakes, learn from them, and keep moving forward.
I’m deeply passionate about those breakthrough moments. The “aha’s,” the triumphs that happen despite hardship, trauma, or setbacks. To me, what matters is the ability to get up the 100th time after you’ve fallen 99. That resilience, that willingness to keep trying, is what makes us better humans.
I believe we all deserve the chance to grow without being permanently defined by our past choices. Change is not only possible, it’s necessary. And when we embrace it with courage and compassion, we open the door for both personal transformation and collective progress
