Today we’d like to introduce you to Casha Monroe.
Casha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve been a bottle host/bartender since I was 18 and I moved to Miami in March of 2016, from Delaware. I was 20, with a resume full of jobs and a big dream. Working in the club one dead Wednesday night, I had nothing better to do then scroll through Instagram. What caught my eye was a chart that broke down lash artists potential daily earnings. Following that night, I contacted several different people and salons offering eyelash extension training classes; I booked a class and started about a month later. The class was taught by Shantell Ronquille, owner of The Beauty Bar By SRJ. I became certified as soon as her class came to an end and I started practicing on my friends to gain further experience. After weeks of rigorous studies and practice, I felt comfortable enough to advertise. I created an Instagram page and posted ads on Craigslist specifically advertising as a travel lash tech. From there, I gained clients and began taking business at home. Today, two years after starting as merely a lash tech, I have graduated with a Technical School license in skin specialty; currently preparing to open my own salon as a licensed Esthetician, catering to not only lashes but also skin care as well.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Becoming a lash technician, turned licensed esthetician has not been easy. Staying focused has always been my weakness, and I have often had my hand in more than one endeavor. When I initially began branding my business, I had trouble finding the focus. I was unclear about my true purpose so when I started, it was for the love of money; seeing the amount I could make in a day and knowing the cap was up to me was my main drive to continue. Turning that entail drive into a business plan was the hardest part; I had to dig deeper into myself to find a niche to fit me. Every business has a function, it’s just defining it that can be challenging. I wanted my brand and work to represent myself in all ways possible so by elevating my passions and skills, I overcame my problem with focus and eventually found a niche. This may sound basic, but it really makes all the difference. You don’t just choose a position in life because you’re “kind of interested”, you do it to be more sustainable; it should ideally be something you can see yourself passionate about for the rest of your life. Establishing a market can give you the opportunity to provide products and services to a group that other businesses have overlooked. Lashed By Casha’s slogan is “Look Like Money.” When you are Lashed By Casha you embody the image of what money brings without even have to stretch your pockets or in other words “break the bank.”

Lashed by Casha specializes in beauty; with an array of various different services to offer to customers from individualized skin care, brow design, lash application and other beauty adjustments. What sets the business apart from others is strong empathetic values. Whether you’re working in an office full of noisy coworkers or from your home, being repeatable and understanding to the others goes a long way. LBC caters to making beauty affordable, but keep the quality of the products.
Do you have a lesson or advice you’d like to share with young women just starting out?
The best career is the one in which you’re using a talent you enjoy. Not every business needs to name or address all of your passions. Use every opportunity as a chance to learn something new and keep an open judgment; you may discover that you really enjoy something you never imagined would appeal to you.
