Today we’d like to introduce you to Paola Gonzalez.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I arrived to Miami in 2014 with the inherent desire to seek and pursue happiness… and I did it.
I am from Venezuelan. I am a wife, mother of two girls, publicist, certified yoga instructor, trained in “Kidding Around Yoga tm” (KAY) as a kids yoga teacher and Doterra wellness advocate.
In 2015, this beautiful city witnessed the birth of my first baby: Sophie.
My pregnancy took me by surprise. In this experience, yoga has been fundamental, not only to get back in shape, but to find serenity and true harmony, reduce anxiety, be more focused, and connect with my daughter physically and spiritually. Motherhood has been my inspiration to create this project.
About Kardioyoga
I started my personal brand three years ago, I was still studying to get my certification as a yoga instructor when I received a message from a group of moms that they wanted to do exercises but they did not have someone to take care of their babies. It was from that class that this project took flight.
I decided to start teaching with the intention of helping other mothers but the universe was spinning me by other ways, now I teach kids, pregnant women, and adults. I can not believe how far I’ve come from that moment.
Kardioyoga is a combination of the words “cardio” and “yoga” fusing yoga poses with a good taste of cardio exercises, based on the principles of ashtanga and vinyasa yoga. Every class include pranayama (breathing exercises), asanas, meditation and aromatherapy (Doterra essential oils)
My Mission is to show a different version of yoga. Guide you to know your body and mind, be healthy without reaching a limit. Teach you to breathe, move and smile inside. Once you find the perfect balance, you will find the best version of yourself.
My vision is to create communities to promote well being – physical and mental health
As a yoga instructor, the best part is to see smiles on the faces of my students at the end of the classes.
I trust in my intuition and this is the result.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My challenge was teaching in another language (English) and being judged by others. I was persistent and Yoga is about persistence.
My advice: Just focus on the present moment and do what you can to get closer to where you want to be. Enjoy the process (whatever) continue to persist and persevere.
Please tell us about Kardioyoga LLC.
I teach kids yoga, prenatal and adults. I also teach in special events and corporations.
I work with them, I give support in their processes and care for them.
My favorite class is kids yoga. It is a class that amuses me. I love seeing the smile of the children, your curiosity and desire to learn. From teaching to kids, I have realized that we are here in this world to play, create and love. Sharing yoga with children is a gift.
Were there people and/or experiences you had in your childhood that you feel laid the foundation for your success?
When I was a child, I was a victim of bullying for having large feet. My brother’s told me that my feet looked like the leg of a rat. Then, in college, my schoolmates made fun of my feet for having bunions. When I started practicing yoga, I used to wear socks to cover my feet, but the practice was not the same. I decided to take off my socks and everything changed. Through practice, I learned to accept my trust and recognize them.
Yoga practice leaves everything naked: physically and internally.
