Osmany Chaple, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Our story is interesting because its a love story! Besides the love and passion that we have for photography, we love each other, and we love our family so much that we discovered our love for photography through them. Since we met, we have always carried a camera in our bag and captured every possible memory from every place we have visited. Our love for photography only grew when we had our children; they were our go-to participants for our photoshoots. To this day, they are still our go to’s! There are numerous reasons as to why we started our business, ‘Hola Photography.’ One I’d love to mention is my wife, Yenjany Chaple (this is where the love story comes in). My wife has been a hardworking professional makeup and hair stylist for numerous years. Her occupation inspired me to pursue this career due to the fact that there is nothing better than working with your significant other! For months, I learned all about photography virtually with the help of Youtube and a few online curriculum. In this learning process, I made sure to purchase the best equipment possible to ensure the most perfect photos. It took me multiple attempts. I purchased many lens, cameras, lighting equipment, you name it! This aided me in having the look I had been aiming for! With every photo shoot that we do with so much dedication, passion, and love and with every positive response we get from our clients, we realize that pursuing this career is a dream come true.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
Our photography is a form of expression. Our objective is to create memories for our clientele that will last a lifetime. We create —— The real beauty relies on our subjects; the models. Our art focuses on the person(s), rather than the outside world. We love to tell stories through photos, photos that could be utilized as heirlooms to be passed down generation to generation. The saying “pictures hold a thousand words” definitely applies to our style. My motto in life is to do what you love to do. This can be interpreted from both ways. I love the art of photography which had inspired me to pursue this occupation. Additionally, we want to capture others doing what they love most, no matter where or what it is!
What responsibility, if any, do you think artists have to use their art to help alleviate problems faced by others? Has your art been affected by issues you’ve concerned about?
All of the events surrounding us today in the international, local and national levels may be significant, but they will never alter the most powerful emotion, and that is love. Love is something that will always continue to thrive in every environment. To answer this question. Our photography will never be impacted in a negative way. Instead, it’ll only cause us to appreciate our talent and share it with the world and all those who are in need of captured memories.
