Today we’d like to introduce you to Cecile Charlotin.
Cecile, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started idealizing the lifestyle of fashion influencers on Instagram and decided I would start posting my outfits online. I later wanted to make my account more authentic and true to my interests. I turned it into a fashion lifestyle and travel account which turned into a blog in the span of 4 years.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
One of my biggest challenges is never allowing myself to fully embrace this path full time. I have a full-time job and it’s difficult to balance blogging and working. Sometimes, I feel like I just want to quit. Then, amazing opportunities arise and I feel so happy, I stuck with it. The hardest part is getting started, find what you’re into and invest your creative energy into that.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Cecile a la Mode – what should we know?
I specialize in social media marketing as a career. The focal point of my platforms is fashion and travel. I think one thing I’m most proud of is my dedication to this endeavor. I feel like as an adult, it’s hard sometimes to find a hobby that you truly love. I found this passion and it’s something I want to do for a long time.
Do you recommend any apps, books or podcasts that have been helpful to you?
I’m currently reading Becoming by Michelle Obama. She’s just a true inspiration and someone I feel I can truly try to emulate.
As far as apps go, I use sudoku and other brain exercising apps when I’m not on Instagram.
