Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex and Erica Arteaga.
Alex and Erica, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Some Good Hops was crafted in the summer of 2017 by husband and wife team, Alex and Erica.
As lovers of the craft beer scene, we knew one day we’d find our own little space within the community. With inspiration from breweries all around the world, and while sharing a few flights of beer, ideas started flowing. Several blondes, lagers, and IPA’s later, we settled on the concept of Some Good Hops — beer inspired apparel and goods.
Since then, we’ve been developed a product line full of awesome craft beer inspired designs, which include shirts hats, accessories, and even children’s clothing.
We’ve participated in a few events around South Florida in attempts to spread our brand and our love for beer. We’ve been blessed to receive support from many in the beer community from day one, and it continues to pour in from all over the country.
We’ve recently had to hit pause on our Some Good Hops adventure as we welcome the arrival of our second child but look forward to picking it back up soon enough.
Has it been a smooth road?
Building a successful brand AND a successful business is no easy task. Countless hours have been poured into the development of Some Good Hops as it stands today. We’ve lost graphic designers left and right, which halted some of our goals along the way. We also moved to a new home recently and were blessed with a second child, which has forced us to put our efforts more on our family than on the brand. No one wants to ever have to make those kinds of decisions but we always said that family will never take a backseat to anything. Nevertheless, we feel that with all that going on, we’ve maintained a tight grip on keeping Some Good Hops on track to where we want it to go.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Some Good Hops – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We specialize in craft beer apparel. That includes shirts, tanks, hats, toddler/baby clothes, keychains, stickers, and bracelets.
We’ve always been proud of the fact that everyone who has purchased anything from us, has been thrilled with the product and its quality. We get a similar comment almost every time about our shirts, and that is “It’s so soft.” Our hats have also been a huge hit with those who have supported us.
All of it is humbling and we’re always honored to hear all the positive feedback from everyone.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Alex: This is a tough question to answer, but if I had to choose it would be playing baseball. The game of baseball has meant everything to me. It’s taught me so much and shaped me to be the person I am today.
Erica: I enjoyed spending quality time traveling with family and having fun with my sisters and cousins.
