Today we’d like to introduce you to Niaps Spain.
Niaps, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Niaps was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Her formative dance training began at age 11 at Beyond Belief Dance company in Mesquite, Texas. Niaps made her first televised appearance on America’s got talent (top 40) with BBDC. At the age of 16, she continued pursuing her career and signed her first entertainment contract with Six Flags Over Texas theme park. Upon graduation in 2012, from Booker T. Washington Performing Arts High School she moved to Los Angeles to take her dance career to the next level. Niaps has danced for the legendary rock band Kiss’s new AFL team; LA KISS. She has appeared in numerous Music Videos with A-list celebrities such as Jessie J “Bang Bang” ft Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj.
FUN FACT: Niaps is pronounced Naipis which is her last name Spain spelled backward.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
Niaps Spain Dance Space is one of the first dance studios to offer Adult commercial style dancing in Dallas Tx. I created the studio to give back to those who do not have the opportunity to travel or have the funds to work with their role models in places such as Los Angels, New York and more. Every month one of the top Choreographers in Los Angeles or New York will come to give a Master Class. At NSDS we are a supportive, positive and hardworking community. We work with all levels and help one another reach their goals.
What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
Networking with those in the same field is VERY important! I would tell entertainers, in general, go to each other’s events, shows and be apart of different projects. Support others, and they will support you!
