Today we’d like to introduce you to Veronica Menin and Diego Tosoni.
Veronica and Diego, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Love Life Cafe was born inside of Love Life Wellness Center, which was founded in 2015, in the heart of Wynwood. The wellness center was a place for yoga, therapy, massage, acupuncture, and workshops. Love Life Cafe was an after yoga smoothie and salad quick place to start, which then grew to be a full menu restaurant because of the high demand of clients from the neighborhood. In August 2018, we decided to expand the Cafe as a full restaurant and a coffee shop next door. Diego and Veronica are a couple in life, love, and business. We are both vegans, animal lovers and our mission in life is to support the world to become a better place. In March 2019, we are also opening a Love Life Cafe at the Time Out Market in Miami Beach.
Has it been a smooth road?
Smooth road? LOL does that exist??? Nothing is ever smooth, at least not in my knowledge. But when you are doing something good, the universe supports you, but there is also a lot of sacrifices, patience, and ups and downs involved. We have sacrificed our finances, and our free time making this happen, but it is a pleasure always because we love what we do. We believe good things take time to happen and as we grow, we experience the payback in many different ways, including changing the lives of our clients and staff.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Love Life Cafe story. Tell us more about the business.
We are a plant-based/vegan cafe in Wynwood, and next door we also have a vegan coffee shop. Our food is made from scratch, free from soy and we make everything in house including dressing, cheese, etc. We won an award for best veggie burger in America, and also for best vegan BBQ in Miami for our choripan. Our coffee shop offers a selection of vegan baked goods and dairy free coffees, lattes, and organic teas.
Tell us about your favorite and least favorites things about our city.
Diego and I have been in Miami since 1996, and what we love about it is the fact that it feels so close to home, him being from Venezuela and me from Brazil. We also love the fact that vegan food is becoming more popular and we have been becoming top ten cities in the country to support plant-based eating. Not sure what we like the least? Maybe the fact that we don’t have any mountains… we love the mountains.
