Today we’d like to introduce you to Carlos Paez.
Carlos, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I had dreamed of being an entrepreneur, like my dad, for as long as I could remember. I studied Business and Marketing at UCF and earned my Bachelor’s degree with the hopes of one day running my own company. A few years of management experience later, I met Paul and Rose Citi, the founders of Aquarius Pools. They were ready to retire and I was ready for the opportunity. I acquired Aquarius Pools, achieving my dream before turning 30. Within one year of ownership, I was recognized for my success and was awarded the Rising Business award. My goal for the business is to continue to build on the legacy that Paul and Rose started before I was born and become the largest pool company in South Florida. I plan on reaching my goal by being committed to customer excellence, premium quality workmanship, and setting the highest standards in performance.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a very smooth road. There was a big risk buying a business in an industry that I had limited experience in, having to learn the intricacies and specifics about the work needing to be done while running a business at the same time was quite a challenge. I lost a few customers at first because of my lack of knowledge and experience. I knew that with my willingness to succeed and my customer service skills I would be able to navigate through the beginning and would eventually persevere. It took me about one year to become very familiar and comfortable with the majority of issues people encounter in the pool business and from them on it became much less difficult.

We are an award-winning pool service, repair, and renovation company. Established in 1980, we have serviced the general South Florida area providing excellent service and customer satisfaction for over 30 years. We are CPO certified and are members of IPSSA. We are insured and licensed with the state of Florida DBPR.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
South Florida is absolutely a great place for a business like Aquarius Pools. If someone was starting out, I would say anywhere in the South East coast of Florida would be safe. Just about every other house has a pool that needs to be serviced, so there is a lot of business to go around.
