Meet Bonnie Rodríguez of Bonnie RzM

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bonnie Rodríguez.

Bonnie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born in Caracas, Venezuela. I started photography when I was 14 years old. My first camera was with film I will spend hours in the dark room. It was and still is my passion.

I graduated in Caracas as a journalist with a mention in visual media. After that, I moved to NYC where I did my Master in Photography at the New York Film Academy.

I started working as a photo journalist photographing exclusives events, where I had the chance to photograph, Heidy Klum, Nicole Richie and much more.

A year and a half later I move to LA to finish my second year at the NYFA LA campus, and I freelance in LA for almost 2 years. In that time, I got to work with Donnell Rawlings, Atlantic Records and much more.

After living in LA for almost 2 years I move to Miami to work with Conexiones Magazine, and I open my own photo studio in downtown Miami.

I specialize in a portrait and fashion photography. Some of my clients in the studio go from Chiquinquirá Delgado, Camila Canabal, Scarlet Gruber, and many more Univision and Telemundo stars.

In the meantime, I’ve been working on my photography blog, where I teach how to look good in photos in everyday life. Where now we are a beautiful community of more than 60,000 people on Instagram.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I was very lucky that my family was very supportive of my passion and always believe I was going to be fine, even though I choose a not so easy path.

The hard part was to leave my country. It’s to start from 0. I didn’t know anyone, to have a start on. No connections. Which is photography, the networking game is crucial. Also with the years, the situation in my country has gone downhill and it’s very hard to know that my family still there.

But my philosophy is to keep working hard, be consistent and I always will see results.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Bonnie RzM – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I specialize in portrait photography and fashion.

Anyone that goes in my studio will end up feeling… just beautiful. My goal is to make every client happy and excited to have their photo taken, where they know they are going to look their best.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I already did my first online course “how to take the perfect selfie” and it has been very successful. It’s an inside on discovering your best angles, how to manage lighting, editing and much more.

Everything in a fun way, and just with your phone.

The next step is to have workshops for bloggers. I will have a 2-day boot camp. Where they will learn how to have their social media presence on point.
