My mother was a beautician! At the age of 13, I picked up the clippers for the first time. I managed to work at a few local barber shops in the area, and after 15 years in the barber industry, I was able to open up my first barbershop. I can honestly say that I love what I do! It’s an art! It’s my passion! Fast forward 23 years later, and I now have two barber shops opened in the City Of Hialeah!

Has it been a smooth road?
The first thing is learning how to run a business and what it takes to maintain a steady clientele. There’s going to be moments where you get overwhelmed due to balancing work and your personal life!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Lazarito’s Barber Shop – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I’m a people person that it’s focused on establishing a brand name that’s center around servicing the community where I’ve lived my entire life. Now, I make sure that my employees can also share and help me build a reputation of a place where families can come in and feel welcome. We have affordable prices for the neighborhoods that we are located in. We host a few events a year for the less fortunate from giving out free book bags on back to school weekend, give out free turkeys for Thanksgiving and hundreds of toys for Christmas! Giving back to the community I once came from is what fuels me to get up every morning and continue servicing my people.

What’s your outlook for the industry in our city?
My business and the service I provide aligns with what Hialeah and the residents can afford and expect from a barbershop. The city offers great opportunities for someone who wants to learn and pursue a career I’m barbering!
