Meet Vania Bredy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vania Bredy.

Vania, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always wanted to be in the field of healthcare since I can remember. Early on, I wanted to be a physical therapist and this is what I pursued during my undergrad at Florida A&M University. This didn’t quite materialize and I learned about the field of Health Information Management. I entered the workforce and became credentialed as a Registered Health Information Administrator. Since 2002, I’ve worked in multiple healthcare settings throughout the east coast. My experience enabled me to elevate to corporate roles in healthcare administration. Throughout the years, I developed a passion for business, so I opened Symonette Concierge and Export Services, LLC. This business was unique and allowed me to facilitate shopping and freight-forwarding services to clients overseas. My passion, however, remained in healthcare and I wanted to combine my health care experience with business administration.

In March of 2016, my husband and I opened Bredy Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab, LLC. The dream to become a physical therapist materialized into co-owning a physical therapy practice with my husband who is a licensed physical therapist. As COO of Bredy Physical Therapist and Sports Rehab, LLC, I oversee operations, marketing, and financial management. My commitment to both businesses is endless. My passion to lead and educate is satisfied through ownership. Community sits at the forefront of what I do and is incorporated into each business model. As a healthcare expert and leader, my experience has led me to be impactful, resourceful and committed to the community I serve.

Most importantly, my mother has always been my light, my inspiration and the fire behind my drive. She molded me into who I am by setting an example that I would never fall short on following. Although she is no longer here to witness where I am right now, all that I am is because of her.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road to where I sit today has not been a walk in the park. A year prior to opening my physical therapy practice, I had the scare of a lifetime….a rare tumor was found on my pancreas. In that moment, I thought my life would be compromised. At the time, I had two small children who depended on me and I couldn’t imagine not being there to see them grow up. Thankfully, however, this tumor had not progressed to State 3 or higher and was resectable. This experience taught me a valuable lesson. It taught me to live my life to the fullest and do what my heart inspired me to do because time is not guaranteed. Six month later, I opened my first company and a little over a year later…Bredy Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab, LLC was born. It has not been easy at all and there were definitely more downs than ups in the beginning. But I persevered and will continue building!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Bredy Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab. / Symonette Concierge and Exports Services story. Tell us more about the business.

As a health care leader who loves advocating on behalf of my patients and community, Bredy Physical Therapy participates in community events and offers free exercise classes to senior citizens at Robert Sharp Towers in Miami Gardens.

I am most proud of the fact that our business is a family owned business. This setting brings comfort to our patients and allows them to be their true selves when working to reach their physical goals. Creating an environment of trust is integral to the overall quality of care delivered and patient outcomes. Our patient satisfaction is at an all-time high.

Symonette Concierge & Export Services is a for-profit, limited liability company registered in the State of Florida. Our target customers are residents of the Bahamas. We also provide services to residents of other islands in the Caribbean who wish to have items purchased and shipped to them. The average cost of travel, lodging, car rentals, food, and miscellaneous items can be relatively high. The desire to travel abroad to purchase bulk items is not cost efficient and it takes away from the comfort of enjoying your vacation. Our company offers our clientele the luxury of shopping remotely from the comfort of their homes. Our services are customizable to meet the demand of the clients we serve.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck has had no place in my life. I believe in God and through him, all things are possible with work and determination. Have I been blessed….yes, most definitely. I’ve been blessed beyond measures and I believe God’s sufficient grace has led me to a place where I am living in my purpose.
