Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Odio.
Jason, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Born and raised in Miami. I started in nightlife when I was 16 years old. A very close family friend, like a Cuban Cousin, Roman Jones, let me do a high school night during the summer at one of his clubs. The night was very successful, and I think he saw the potential in me. When I was 18, I started working for him full time. I worked with The Opium Group for almost 11 years and then left to open Sidebar in late 2014. From there, I opened Ariete and Baby Jane in 2016.
Has it been a smooth road?
I’ve had a couple of rough patches. I tried my hand at a few different things while I worked in the nightclubs. Nothing really materialized. I think it mostly has to do with the lack of effort I actually put into it. When I decided to really take my career serious and set off on my own, is when I really got a taste of what starting a business really consisted of. From there, running a business has so many variables. There’s always something.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Native Sons Hospitality – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I’m an owner/partner in three uniquely different hospitality concepts. Kindred is an indoor/outdoor bar/club, Baby Jane is a cocktail & noodle bar. And Ariete is a casual fine dining restaurant.
I think I’m known for as a go-to guy in Miami with a great group of friends. We always try to set ourselves apart by filling voids in any market we enter. I’m proud that our company maintains high standards in everything we do.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like best about Miami is all the unique municipalities and what I like the least is the summer heat.
