Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeannine McQueen.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve been in the retail industry ever since I was old enough to start working. I’ve always enjoyed playing in clothes, putting outfits together and adding accessories. I attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and graduated with my Bachelors in December 2013.
I always thought I wanted to own a store and sell apparel but something shifted my mindset, and I was convinced I wanted my own handbag/accessories brand. By January 2015, I launched my brand Arthur McQueen Inc., naming it after my father being that I come from an entrepreneurial family.
Arthur McQueen Inc is still a growing brand, so future plans involve continuous expansion, new items, more apparel, more colors, more variety, and even a men’s bag line.
Has it been a smooth road?
Entrepreneurship is never easy. Although I had a foundation, I have been able to apply from my schooling, there are still many roadblocks I’ve faced. But I ask questions, read books, watch videos, and learn whatever I can along the way. Practice and try again. It’s all about trial and error until you find what works for you.

Arthur McQueen Inc is a lifestyle brand that carries items such as scented candles, bath bombs, apparel, and hats, but we specialize in women’s handbags. Classy, chic, fashionable, affordable luxury.
What I am most proud of is accomplishing the beginning of my dream. I never thought I would or even could own my own brand, but I took the risk and tried anyway and here I am.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like best about South Florida is the grand mix and diversity of ethnicities and cultures here. It brings life and makes it more beautiful. I’ve met so many different people here, and the talent and artistry are so amazing in all different works.
What’s not to love about South Florida? Well, maybe the traffic. lol
