Today we’d like to introduce you to Andy Faerman.
Andy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started working in fashion when I was studying Fashion Design. My first job was as a fashion assistant for a very important newspaper in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I worked in costume design and later opened my own fashion brand. I had my brand for almost five years, we participated in Buenos Aires Fashion Week and were featured in most magazines.
I started blogging right after that, and it was mostly a hobby in the beginning. I had another website, and it was an amazing experience. I also worked as a marketing director for fashion companies. I moved to Florida with my family in January 2016. It has been an amazing journey.
I started Miami Fashion Insider with the idea to feature where to shop in Miami, and it also becomes my personal “reality” when Instastories was launched. I have an amazing audience, and we created a community that I love. I also work as a consultant for fashion brands and as a personal stylist.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been exhausting, especially starting over in another country after 14 years of working in fashion in Argentina. But it was also amazing and challenging and made me grow so much as a person.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Miami Fashion Insider – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I love Miami Fashion Insider. It has three different businesses. The first one is the website, where we recommend where to shop through real experiences. The second one is the styling for brands and personal shopping. The third one is the branding for brands that want to sell and be known in the US.
I am proud of having a point of view and thinking outside the box. I feel we are very good at storytelling and working on brands identities as well as personal identity. We don’t copy-paste. That sets us apart.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are hoping to continue growing!
