Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Rodgers.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m originally from Colombia in the small town of Barranquilla, born and raised actually but I been in the United States for about ten years or a little more… I used to live in Seattle, a few years back but base in Miami – Fort Lauderdale now.
I worked and studied fashion Merchandise and public relations at the MIU art and design, I worked at Forever21 for over a year as a visual Merchandise and I learned a lot in that opportunity, but modeling called at the door again and I completely left it, after ups and downs I started to work as a VIP Host for more than five years part-time with a good name company in Miami Beach but I wasn’t feeling that was my place and slowly I quit.
I started in this industry (blogger) as a form of therapy, I was feeling very lost in different aspects of my life and emotional after a bad break up with a long-term relationship, at that moment, I was modeling but I have been in love with trends and the fashion market since I was a little girl, I signed with my first agency back when I was 9 years old, Since that fashion has been my passion. well I feel like in life you have to go through experiences to learn what is your path, STEPHY DAILY born of the necessity to heal, I would say in a better way, I created with the intention not only for knowing about fashion, trends and beauty (which is my main topics) in the industry but my goal is inspiring others to try to be a better and happier self every day.
I have been with my blog for about three years (this year) I grew up doing modeling for many years, which is two different faces of being a blogger this was something new for me and challenging like “how to look more as a good writer than just a pretty face.”
I think I always say that if you do the things you love with passion and a lot of love they will always are going to work out. And that exactly was my feeling after I signed my first contract and started work with brands, it’s a lot of work that you have to put into it, and I feel like I do still have a lot to learn but on the way, you meet great people in this community and made beautiful friendships.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Yes, just like everyone it has been a challenge, nothing it’s easy because a lot of people it would be doing it already! Lol!
But definitely one of my challenges has been brands to believe in my work as a blogger/writer and not just a model.
At the end of the day, yes! we are kind of modeling the clothes or trends we want to share but it’s such a different thing… you are actually introducing yourself as a person, what motivates you to work with that company/brand… what’s the message you want to share with your audience, you are exposing your life on social media not just your body.
When I started it’s was quite a ride for me, the brands to believe In me as the blogger STEPHY DAILY it’s a bran, not the model, which now that time has passed I look back and I see how much I have grown.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Stephy Daily story. Tell us more about the business.
My main it’s fashion and beauty and mindfulness but I been adding more lifestyle to the blog. When you are in this industry, you have to be open because sometimes opportunities knock the door and they are not exactly in the field you are in that moment, and you lost the contact!
(God knows if that was the opportunity to do something else with a sister company* that is currently in the area you work with.)
Well, the difference from other bloggers to me it’s definitely that I do love fashion and wrote about it but I tried to focus in a more spiritual way on the blog how to have more self-love than just buy clothes and wearing it. It’s just sending a positive message.
I am currently working on the launch of my lipsticks matte line with BEAUTHAIFUL on a partnership they are a local brand in Thailand, and my goal is to make a clean product that not only is not tested on animals but that is vegan to keep your lips hydrated.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
The role of being a model and a Mom has played a part of good and bad luck in my life.
But I am a believer that you make your own future and in business, or my personal life I try to see it in a positive way always and learn from the mistakes.
