Meet Tamara “Tamara Jones” McKee of Tamara Jones in Boca Raton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamara “Tamara Jones” McKee.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Tamara. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have two professional passions: Creating powerful advertising and stories and creating effective public policy. It has been my blessing to work as a creative professional in the media, fashion, film, television and advertising industries for the past three decades. My professional name is Tamara Jones; I am an actor, producer, talent coordinator, and model. I have great affection for my hometown of Miami; I am proud to call Boca Raton home. Thankfully I am able to do a lot of work out of my home studio, for markets elsewhere.

My first job was for the Fortune 500 company General Mills, as the star of a Lucky Charms commercial, when I was eight years old. Some interesting items from my resume:
-I was lead actor in over 40 national commercials for clients like Wendy’s, The Home Depot, Amgen, Jet Blue, Sports Illustrated, Ford Motors, Dan Bates and Saatchi & Saatchi.
-As a model, I’ve lived and worked in 6 continents for clients like Saks Fifth Avenue, Louis Feraud, Harper’s’ Bazaar, Bloomingdale’s, Spiegel, in multi-lingual, high-pressure environments.
-I’ve been directed by Oscar-winning directors Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen, and John Singleton.

My other passion is creating great public policy. In my political work, I served
-Vice-Chair and Board Member, on the Florida Real Estate Appraiser’s Board, at the pleasure of Gov Scott for six years as his appointee representing consumers on this State of Florida regulatory and licensing board.
-Trustee, on the City of Boca Raton Pension Board.
-Board member, on the City of Boca Raton Board of Elder Affairs.

As I grew more involved in my film and television industry, and in my children’s education, I grew more politically involved. And that is my second passion. My academic background, a degree in History, trained me for research and

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Media, art, and advertising are constantly changing. I am thrilled that I have been able to build a home studio to keep up with the changes in my industry.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
As an actor, I am known for portraying physically strong, professional women-usually in law enforcement. I specialize in on camera precision auto driving, comedic improvisation, firearms, and emotionally driven scenes.

What were you like growing up?
I was a total geek. I trained in New York as an actor, dancer, and singer. I ran cross country and played soccer in high school and loved it.
