Vanessa, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
It all started about four years ago, I felt extremely frustrated with the nail care industry in my community and felt like either I had to compromise the quality of my services for a “cute and trendy” shop vibe experience or vice verse.
I can remember countless times where I’d leave a nail salon and didn’t feel 100% satisfied – if it wasn’t the actual service, it was the cleanliness of the space and the harsh smell of chemicals as you walked in. I knew I couldn’t have been the only one feeling that way, so I took a leap of faith and decided to redefine the entire market and open Luv Nail Shop, where everyone would feel LUVed and taken care.
Fast forward to almost three years in business, we’re extremely humbled to be able to provide a self-care haven where anyone can come in for a much-deserved self luv day, as we like to call it, and leave feeling fully redefined and confident!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Starting Luv Nail Shop from scratch has definitely been a challenge, but one of the most rewarding things we’ve ever gone through. Especially, when I sit back and realize the impact we’ve made to date.
I’d say one of the struggles we faced was when we first opened the shop and had to introduce our community to this new kind of non-toxic nail care and spa-like experience – a place where they could walk into a chic and modern space, receive top-notch customer service, and where only non-toxic vegan-friendly and “5-free” polishes were going to be used for their mani and pedis.

At Luv Nail Shop we’re known for our natural nail care only, self-care haven, spa-like atmosphere, and our yummy tea! I’d say we’re most proud of the change we’ve made in our nail care community to date. Hearing customers say – “I’ve lived in Miami for years, and have never had a mani and pedi this amazing before,” never gets old! Hands down to our attention to detail. We take the extra time to make sure each and every one of our customer feel relaxed and is getting the best quality service possible.
We pride ourselves in making a conscious choice every single day to make self-care a part of our daily routine, that’s why we not only created the nail shop but also introduced our own bath and body natural body care products – to remind our guests that self-luv isn’t selfish but necessary.
