Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandy Viteri.
Sandy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. But my first opportunity to spread my entrepreneurial wings was when I was 15. My best friend and I created a party planning and children’s entertainment business that taught me two very important lessons:
1. About the commitment that is required to be a successful entrepreneur and
2. About the rewarding feeling you get to experience when you focus on delivering the best customer satisfaction
Looking for new opportunities, my family and I came to the United States when I was 18 years old. As any immigrant knows, it’s a very difficult leap of faith made even more difficult when you do not speak the language. I taught myself English by placing sticky notes with the names of objects all around the house. Once I’ve learned a little bit of English I thought that the best way to continue developing my English skills was to throw myself into the deep end by submerging myself into customer-facing positions. So, I got a job as a department store sales associate during the day AND as a restaurant hostess at night.
When I was ready, I applied for a position as a receptionist and I made the “BIG MOVE” into the Corporate World. But I am most proud of how I raised my son, while I was a single mom, taking care of my mother who was battling cancer, earning a degree in Marketing, and climbing the corporate ladder. My son is now a first responder as a Police Officer in Panama City. I was juggling a lot. But my hard work paid off, I mastered English and I became the Director of Public Relations for a Global Clinical Research Company in Washington, D.C. which working closely with the senior management team, I lead strategic communications activities with investors, customers and regulatory agencies until we took the company to NASDAQ. It wasn’t easy. The road to success is never easy but is very rewarding.
My career then took me into the Enterprise Software market where I ran for over eight years Marketing and Lead Generation Programs in North and South America for a European Software Company. Seeking to expand my contributions, I became the VP of Global Marketing Operations for a Media and Digital Analytics Company that was entering a high-growth phase driven by partnerships and acquisitions with Google and Facebook.
After moving to South Florida, I said to myself “Our dreams are non-negotiable when we are asleep. So why allow them to be negotiable when we are awake?” That is when I decided to go all in as an entrepreneur and to start my own company. This was when I founded Viteri Vibes a Full-Service Marketing Agency. I knew my corporate marketing experience and entrepreneurial energy would be valuable to a vast number of entrepreneurs and small business owners who need help to start, establish and grow their companies.
Has it been a smooth road?
I am not going to lie. Starting your own business is never easy! As the Founder of a company, there is a learning curve on how to build, launch, establish and make a profitable company. All of this while wearing multiple hats. Being your own CEO, Accountant, head of IT, etc.
It is also challenging at a personal level because entrepreneurs like me sacrifice a lot of our personal time for our business and there just never seem to be enough hours in the day.
Thankfully, I’ve been able to leverage the skills and networks that I developed working in public relations and marketing for nearly two decades with major enterprise companies in the software development and media measurement/analytics industries. I am also grateful for having a wonderful partner as a husband. He gives me the support that I need and he brings a lot of value to Viteri Vibes with his global experience as the chief sales officer in the high-tech world of enterprise software.
Finding balance, while being a mom, wife, business-woman and giving my time and energies to my important causes and charities keeps me busy; However, I am very organized and detailed oriented; So from a business perspective, having an structure and following my own project plans and frameworks help me focus on my existing clients and on new projects. That is where I spend most of my time.
The life of an entrepreneur can be challenging but is driven by passion. That passion is our inspiration, is our energy, is our driver, and the results of our work is our reward!
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Viteri Vibes – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I LOVE our City. The people, the “Vibe,” the climate, the food. Everything.
I came straight from Venezuela to Washington, D.C. and I lived there for over 24 years.
I liked having the different seasons. But only God knows how much I missed having x-mas lights on palm trees 🙂
