Today we’d like to introduce you to Celene Gee.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m one of the four partners of Gee Beauty. I’m in business with my mother Miriam and my two sisters Natalie and Stephanie Gee. We founded our company in Toronto in 2005. We wanted to create a new and modern beauty experience that offered time-sensitive and result driven treatments and products that were designed to suit your individual skin type and lifestyle.
I’m the creative director for the company, overseeing the brand and all of our creative assets.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I’m fortunate to be able to do what I love with my family. We, of course, come across challenges daily and yearly – growing the business and the team, going into new markets, launching our newly updated e-commerce platform – we are always trying to improve everything we do so that we can best service our clients.

Gee Beauty is a modern beauty destination retailing Gee Beauty makeup, the best skincare, wellness and lifestyle brands from around the world. Toronto and Miami in-studio signature treatments include brow, skin and makeup services.
We want to be able to offer the very best, most result-driven and time-sensitive beauty, skin, lifestyle and wellness products, coupled with effective, high-tech, customized treatments. We make sure to test and approve everything before we stand behind it because our clients trust us. We do the work so that we can offer the right solutions catered to their uniqueness.
What were you like growing up?
I was always creative and curious. My parents are both entrepreneurs and also creative, so I grew up going to museums and galleries. I loved fashion and design magazines and really studied the editorials, the type, the layout – I was fascinated. I was both an introvert and an extrovert. I had a big imagination so I could get lost in my head all day and not notice.
