Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Villalba.
Victoria, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
While attending Hialeah High School, I worked part-time at Eastern Airlines as a temporary employee in the Human Resources/Flight Attendant & Pilot Recruitment department. I had great mentors and decided to major in HR in college. When I graduated from college, I was hired by Eastern Airlines. When Eastern Airlines ceased operations, I found work with a national staffing company as a Recruiter. I fell in love with the industry. The firm I was working with decided to close the local office but offered me work in Atlanta but this was not an option at the time. With the encouragement from family, I decided to try the entrepreneurial track and opened Victoria & Associates. I began as an onsite, vendor-on-premise staffing company at Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines in 1992. The company then expanded as we began to service other clients. The only answer to how I got to where I am today is by having Faith and knowing God had a plan for me.
Has it been a smooth road?
This has been a roller coaster ride from day one! I always try to focus on the positive. We are in the people business so we will always have situations to deal with. With entrepreneurship, your work is your life. My challenge has always been to have work-life balance. I am thankful that I chose a career that I love, enjoy and find rewarding.

MIAMI is a beautiful city and has been great to me! I was born here and have seen our community grow and stretch to meet the needs of new businesses and people. It’s exciting to see my hometown become the global city we always dreamed it to be.
