Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Tang.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I started as a graphic designer in Venezuela. I needed to hire a photographer for a job but his bad attitude inspired me to do it myself. I started with food photography and that helped me learn the technique a confidence to start shooting subjects, females mostly.
I moved to Miami in 2010 from Venezuela, with my old company, where I used to do different type of photography. In 2017 me and my wife decided to create a project where we could be 100% free and create the kind of images we wanted, freely. That’s how OHRANGUTANG was born. It’s grown was completely organic thanks to social media.
Please tell us about your art.
I have always said that I am not a fan a photography but a fan of women, and that’s why I do this type of work. I enjoy being surrounded by women every day. Orangutan is an experience, it’s about empowering the women sexuality without judging. We believe every woman is beautiful and sexy and there’s a way to make her look and feel that way.
What do you think is the biggest challenge facing artists today?
Right now you have to be mainstream in order to live of your art and that can kill the soul of what you are trying to do.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
We have a new platform where people can enjoy exclusive content, from sets, to videos, photography tips and others
