Meet Claudia Echeverria, CLoD

Today we’d like to introduce you to Claudia Echeverria, CLoD.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
On January 2017 I quit my job as a Tv Producer, and left for a One-year solo trip around the world. On the last trimester I decided to set up Art studios in Kathmandu (Nepal) and Phuket (Thailand) although I only painted recently as a hobby. What happened there was magical. I was in my zone, my element, and when I came back to Miami at the end of the trip, I decided to start an Artist career.

So here I am, giving it all to live my dream.

Please tell us about your art.
In my pieces, I try to talk about issues we all know, but no one speaks of. They have beautiful lively colors, and monster-like funny looking characters, but they touch deep issues that make people feel related to, in a very personal way. They usually have a written phrase that invites to question the self. It’s all about content, in a happy and beautiful environment.

I usually doodle in my sketchbook, with issues that bothers me or I’ve recently perceived, then they move to the canvas and when they start mixing with colors, it has a life of its own. I enjoy the process, embrace imperfection, and let it flow. I hope people can see behind the “funny” characters, the lively colors, and be brave enough to use these pieces as mirrors.

Choosing a creative or artistic path comes with many financial challenges. Any advice for those struggling to focus on their artwork due to financial concerns?
Wow.
This one touches real close cause I am going through the transition and let me tell you, it’s not easy.
I came up with this “100 day challenge” that keeps me busy, engage, challenged and since the pieces are small, it gives my followers the opportunity to own an original for a very low price. That has helped me a lot! Best advice? Keep walking. There are going to be good and bad days, just stay focused and most importantly: Believe in you.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?

I currently have a 100-day challenge, where I’ll be painting a piece a day for the next 100 days, check it out at my Instagram @instaclodclod
