Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Correa.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born to do music. As early as I can recall, Music has always been my desire and passion. While attending the University of Miami Frost School of Music, I concentrated on production and studio work which ultimately resulted in the releases of 3 full albums and a few singles. Now that I just graduated, I am concentrating on rehearsing with my band mates to perform and take the show on the road….
Has it been a smooth road?
NOPE, definitely not a smooth road. Nor do we expect smooth roads up ahead. If anything, we are preparing for long and bumpy roads. I have heard all too often, that nothing worthwhile is ever easy. I concur! The music business is particularly cruel and often unfair. I do it for the love of it. I won’t stop. I will keep making music and performing despite all the obstacles.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am an artist. My band mates are artists. My music producer is an artist. We all studied Music at the University level.
Our music is somewhat eclectic and unique. Even though I was born in the US and don’t speak Spanish, my Cuban heritage has somehow found its way into the music with afro Cuban rhythm flavor fused with Pop Rock.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Regrettably, our City does not have a healthy live music scene. I would love for South Florida to have more live music venues. There are a ton of exceptionally talented musicians that live here in Miami but actually do most of their “performance work” abroad. It is very difficult to have a sustainable livelihood as a music performer if one had to rely mostly on Miami’s live scene opportunities.
