Art & Life with Osose Ojomon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Osose Ojomon.

Osose, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I go by the artist name of OSQUARE. Born and raised in Miami. I’m 21 years young, an indie singer/songwriter. I began singing at the age of four, started making music in my home studio during my sophomore year in High-school, then later started to take it more serious after I graduated back in 2015.

I’m also a freelance photographer and worked with various artists, models, dancers etc.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
My art is my music, my lyrics. I sing. Before that of course I write lyrics to beats that make me move. I love writing lyrics and find myself doing that most of the time like every day haha.

How I write my songs… I really like to find a nice beat, and then just write to it… I hum melodies and find words that match with what I’m feeling along with the beat, making sure it flows well. I know some people do it the opposite way, which sometime I’d like to try.

I would describe my genre of music as r&b, alternative r&b, smooth mellow music that makes your mind go in a trans.

I make music because I love it. I love hearing the finished product of something I created, and it sounding amazing haha. I also love that I can make people feel with my music, and lyrics. Lastly to inspire others that want to chase that dream.

Aside from the music aspect, in photography I love taking photos of artist, and making them feel comfortable in expressing themselves in their own skin. I love aesthetics in a photo and capturing the vision of what my client wants and making them satisfied!

How do you think about success, as an artist, and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
Perfecting your craft to your up most liking as an artist whether it’s in music, drawing, painting, photography etc… First and foremost definitely defines success in my eyes. And then of course getting some recognition from your supporters and or important people.

Having all around good vibes as an artist is key. You have to be cool to work with, be on time to things, treat people with respect and all that good stuff. Also never stop working!

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
My Instagram is @osquare. My Twitter is @osquaremusic. I’m normally on Instagram more as it’s my main handle that I rock with. I do post often on both though! SoundCloud is @osquaremusic, which is where literally all my songs are at. As for iTunes I only have two singles on there, which you can search “osquare” or “osquare this thing called love” and it should pop up.
