Today we’d like to introduce you to Juliana Aragao.
Juliana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil in 1987. I received a bachelor’s degree in advertising, graphic design and studio art from the University of Miami. During my studies I experienced life abroad in Florence, New York, and Geneva, where nature became my inspiration in art and in life.
My art career started at the age of fifteen; when I was hired to work as a part-time studio assistant, for world-renowned artist Romero Britto. As one of his first proteges, I was able to travel around the world to various prestigious art exhibitions. After I graduated college, I started along my own path and opened my studio/gallery in the up and coming Miami River District. Today, I currently live and work in Miami.
Has it been a smooth road?
Has it been a smooth road? Absolutely not! I have worked as an artist since I was fifteen but the art world is not easy. I’ve had to work other jobs in order to make a living and fund my passion. I don’t think you can really evolve and grow on a smooth path. The challenges definitely help you grow both personally and professionally.
In the last seven years, I’ve gone through many artistic phases, which were frustrating at times. To discover that one style that really sets you apart. In recent months, I have been commissioned to produce many mixed media portraits via social media and word of mouth. My next step is to collaborate with talented photographers for upcoming exhibits. I truly believe that if you “choose a job you love, you will never have to work a day in your life.”
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Juliana Aragao LLC story. Tell us more about the business.
I combine painting, photography, illustration, design, and organic objects into my artistic creations. Today, I am most known for mixed media portraits. Essentially my goal is to create beautiful art that inspires viewers to perceive nature, people and the world as one. My pieces reflect exactly who I am; creative, sensitive and dynamic.
