Today we’d like to introduce you to Valerie Cianci.
Valerie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Top It Off Designs started as an Etsy shop selling crafted paper cupcake toppers. After planning my son’s second birthday, was when I started exploring the event planning world. At first, it was mostly dessert tables as I was working a full time job but it came to a point where I wanted to invest my full time to Top It Off Designs so I took the chance and ran with it (thankful for a very supportive husband). Soon after I was doing Full Event Planning and Styling. With the help of amazing vendors and clients, I’ve gotten to design and plan lots of memorable events.
Has it been a smooth road?
I honestly can’t complain, I truly love what I do. I would have to say the most challenging part was learning to delegate. I would struggle not having total control of everything but once I found the right vendors and assistants, I realized it was necessary for the company’s growth.

Established in 2013, Top It Off Designs is an event planning and styling studio, providing highly creative, innovative and tailored events in South Florida. We are committed to making your planning experience just as fabulous as the event itself.
We design and plan all kinds of events; Children’s Birthdays, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Baby Showers, Weddings and any celebration your heart desires!
I take pride in my “less is more” aesthetic and it definitely sets me aside from other companies in the event industry.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Miami has a unique and exciting mix of cultures with a laid-back seaside vibe. I’ve met so many amazing people in the event industry, which I am greatly thankful for.
Our summer weather isn’t the most pleasant to work in. My outside events are always a challenge with either the rain or extreme heat!
