Mario and Lou, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Incognito Salon opened its doors 28 years ago. In that time we have grown into one of the top L’Oreal salons in the nation. In the beginning Coral Springs/Parkland was rather new and developing city and there weren’t many salons. That is not the case anymore! In that 28 years we have built Incognito into the premier hair color salon in Coral Springs/Parkland. In the years we have been featured in many publications and we have also been named Chanel 10 news’ top salon for the past 3 years, in addition to New Times of Broward’s People’s choice, for best Salon. We have gotten to the place we are today by being highly educated in our field of hair color. We have continuing education classes every Wednesday afternoon. This allows us to either be the student or the teacher. We take pride in becoming the best we can be. Some may not consider working in a hair salon a career but, we take it very seriously.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We have been very fortunate. Of course we have had a few struggles along the way like everyone else. The Salon Suites have damaged the industry by making everyone believe they can be their own boss and working for an owner is bad. This only isolates stylists and their guests. In this industry, you need stimulation by other stylist to grow and be productive. Team work is everything in this business!

Our Salon specializes in hair color. That is what we are known for. As a L’Oreal Platinum Salon, we receive previews of all the new techniques and trends to come out of Paris before any other salon. This helps us to get in front of the trends before they become popular. We also pride ourselves in giving the best experience to our guests. It is all about them. We take the time to listen to their concerns and try to find a solution to their hair problems. We are also known as the hair psychiatrists! We think this is what sets us apart from everyone else. The fact that we have a passion for what we do is just a bonus!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our Building is going thru a major face lift, so we are hoping to expand and to continue to grow. As always, we look for great talent that we can nurture and help become the best they can be in our industry.
