Today we’d like to introduce you to Beatrice Zuluaga.

Beatrice, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been in the beauty/health industry for over 23 years (mainly cosmetic surgery/beauty/image consulting).

The need for a Blow Dry Bar in South Broward was there. I for one was a customer in search of a great place for my Blow dry near me but never found one.

I opened up a small but quickly successful Blow Dry Bar in 2013 but very rapidly ran out of space and when I saw an opportunity to take a space that opened in same plaza, I jumped on it!

Now I had a nice open space that had once been a dreary consignment shop for years and had to redo everything. In the meantime, I always notice Blow Dry Bars offer wine but I am a health food aficionado and though it would be a great idea if one could sip on a healthy drink while getting our hair done and then from there it just grew! We offer healthy smoothies, organic raw juices and treats while servicing you. Nowhere else can you get this service. You have a person take and deliver your order to your chair.

We have lots of walk in traffic for the Smoothie Bar as well since there literally is a “bar” where you can sit and relax, enjoy the lively music that’s always playing. We will even have a live singer and are famous for our Healthy Happy Hour.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a hit since the day we opened, thank God. We actually had a woman standing outside when we took down the plastic from the windows and that was our first walk in. Instant business. The community was hungry for something new.

Blow Dry bar with a healthy twist. Organic Drinks and Healthy Smoothies, a place where you can hang out and meet a friend for Healthy Happy Hour without necessarily getting your hair done.

All of our customers enjoy a massage while getting their hair washed and can even save time and get their nails done while getting their hair taken care of. All the while, sipping on a healthy drink.

Everyone raves about what a great “Vibe” we have. We burn incense all day and you’ll find inspirational Quotes all over as well. We have somewhat of a hippie/spiritual attitude unusual for a salon.

What were you like growing up?
Somewhat of a bookworm, grew up in Spanish Harlem and always knew that there was much more out there than what I was supposed to grow up in. I wanted to see the world, and so far, I am doing a pretty god job at it. Now I am dedicating my travels to find inspirations for my businesses.
