Meet Milene Carvalho of Travers Miran Realty in Parkland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Milene Carvalho.

Milene, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born in Brazil and moved to the United States at age 16 to study abroad. A student visa became a work visa, later a green card and now a proud citizen of the United States. Born Brazilian, American by choice! I lived in Philadelphia, PA for ten years, where I attended high school and started college which I finished here in Florida getting my International Business and Business administration degree from NOVA Southeastern University. I started my career in corporate America where I used to manage 15+ people and was in charge of the sales division for a large cellular phone wholesaler. After that, I worked as a software implementor for companies who needed a system in place putting my organizational skills to the task. After working behind a desk for 16 years, I knew it was time for a change, so I decided to pursue my passion, Real Estate. Being a Real Estate investor myself, it was a smooth transition. My experience acquired in the corporate world is what gives me a competitive advantage in Real Estate. For instance, I learned from my colleagues that the first years as a Real Estate agent are very hard with not too many deals, not for me! My very first year I had over 50 transactions. Switching to Real Estate was the best decision I made, I could not be happier!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The biggest struggle for me was to switch from a steady income to the uncertainty of Real Estate. The work that I do today, I get paid in 45-60 days, so learning, in the beginning, to plan was essential to my new carrier.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Milene Carvalho Realtor – what should we know?
As a top producer Realtor, I have a passion for exceeding my client’s expectations. My professionalism and service allow the client to save important time and energy in the home purchase or sale process. What sets me apart from others is my administrative background. I am highly skilled at relationship-building with clients; task oriented and have interpersonal communication skills. But most of all, it is people over profit. Buying and selling a property is probably the biggest transaction a person will make in their lifetime. It’s not just an investment — it’s their home. My aggressive negotiating style, attention to detail and protectiveness of my client’s best interests ensures they get the home they want, with the best terms and price.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I lost my dad at a young age and my mom was my role model. She taught me never to feel sorry for myself, always be grateful, and that life will throw you many lemons so learn how to make the best lemonade possible.

My brother, Fred Martins, who I learned so much in life. I own to him my organizational skills and most important, resilience. Even at a young age himself, he stepped into the father figure I needed growing up.

My husband Alex Carvalho, who believes in me and stand behind my every decision, and my two daughters, Bianca and Gabriela, the reason for everything I do. Could not have done it without them!

And above all, God. Without His grace, nothing would be possible!
