Today we’d like to introduce you to Cristina Mas.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am what I like to call “an accidental entrepreneur.” I had always thought it would be great to have my own company but truthfully did not know how. I was approached by a friend to help his brand and market his company, Ride2MD and shortly after that, I had two other companies reaching out to me asking to hire me full time. I didn’t want to go back to the corporate 9-5 so I let them know that I had actually just started my own consulting company and that’s how CIM started. 3 years later we have worked with over 15 companies all in different sectors assisting them with their sales and community strategies.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Entrepreneurship is never a smooth road! One of the struggles is time management and making sure I have enough time to play offense for my clients i.e. getting things out the door while making sure I set the time to set up my meetings and calls with partners and other opportunities. At the end of last year, we had two contracts end which was scary but we took it as a time to sit back, get organized and cultivate new relationships which brought us to where we are today.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about CIM Consulting – what should we know?
We are a business development company and specialize in sales and community strategies for our clients. We list many services such as PR, Social Media, Events and Real Estate among our services. We look at our clients from a holistic approach, we get them the real estate but then we assist them with creating and implementing tools for long-term success and ROI.
We are different because we think outside the box, we talk to each of our clients on a daily basis and are constantly shifting and growing as technology changes.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Time management and consistency. I have certain things I do every day which help to keep me on track. I try to keep my mornings open to play “offense” for my clients and use the afternoons for “defense.” I make sure to confirm all my appointments the day before which allows me to use the day to the best of my abilities.
