Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Bauer.
Kristin, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started 19 years ago in the plastic surgery industry. I actually had no intention of staying in plastic surgery, I thought that my calling in life was to become a doctor and I wanted to specialize in revolutionizing the industry around healing burn victims. I went to work with a well known plastic surgeon who used laser therapy on all of his cosmetic surgery procedures. I felt that I could get some insight into healing burns in a more productive routine so that anyone involved in a traumatic burn had some better options than what I had witnessed in those current physical therapy practices.
What happened was really interesting because I got totally sucked into this whole realm of beauty in the pharmaceutical industry. And I stayed in that world for a while, fascinated with things like DNA mutation and chemical peels. As my dedication to this field grew, I developed my own line of chemical peels, built an amazing practice and started a Medi-Spa. When I got pregnant with my daughter I had an awakening moment where I realized that everything I was doing to my skin and to my clients’ skin was actually toxic. How could toxins make people’s skin healthier? I personally counted over 300 chemicals/synthetics in my shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, deodorant, and skin care products that I was slathering myself with by 9 A.M. every day. And, that was it! I immediately knew that I had to stop using chemicals and begin to use natural products in my personal life and my skin care practice.
The only problem was that the more I researched natural products and techniques the more I felt defeated in my venture. I had a thriving client database who were used to getting extremely effective treatments and I didn’t feel confident to give them anything less. I certainly couldn’t start rubbing rose cream on their skin and expect they were going to stay with me. So, just prior to getting pregnant I had started studying some plant therapies with a medicine man from Peru for immune boosting. My mother passed away many years earlier from breast cancer and I had some issues with my immune system and nervous system that left me feeling unhealthy and exhausted most of the time.
Pharmaceuticals had only made all of this worse. As well, I felt like all the surgeries, pharmaceuticals and chemotherapy my mom had is what actually caused her life to be so short. I saw myself in my late 20’s feeling older than my dad. What a blessing, because it was through the plants that I had started to receive tremendous healing.
And I realized that these indigenous tribes in both South America and North America didn’t have hospitals and pharmaceuticals, they had their medicine men and medicine women who used plants. These plants had done for me in 1 year a tremendous healing, whereas, 15 years of pharmaceuticals had produced no results. So, if these plants could be so powerful for me internally I knew they had to be the key to topical healing for the skin as well. I dove deeply into studying ancient plant technology. I still to this day study with my teacher yearly in the Amazon jungle, with my adopted Apache grandmother, and the elders in the native tribes that I have found so much knowledge and wisdom from. I was fortunate to travel to Japan while Dr. Masaru Emoto was alive and study water crystal photography with him.
Our bodies are over 70% water and it opened my eyes to how our thoughts and feelings could actually change the molecular structure of the water in our bodies. There is more water in our bodies than there is blood and even the plasma in our blood is 90% water.
Surely we can’t overlook the energetic health of the water in our bodies. And as all of these new possibilities expanded into my awareness I realized that skin was so much more than I had ever realized. It was then, that I actually fell in love with skin health because finally, I was in a space of so much fascinating possibility. I knew from my years in plastic surgery that many of the men and women getting these procedures done didn’t want to cut and burn themselves, but that this was the only option they thought they had.
And, for sure, I have no judgment on plastic surgery, but I felt that it was sad that people felt they had no other options. And I felt that a lot of pressure was placed on society to look a certain way. When I looked at the elders in the native and indigenous cultures I was studying with, they may have had some line, some wrinkles and lots of grey hair. But these things weren’t negative to them and in fact, there was a radiance and beauty and life force that they carried that I didn’t see in many of the elders in our community. I knew it was the plants. And I knew that I was going to connect with these plants for skin health and beauty.
Has it been a smooth road?
I definitely struggled with a newborn and changing my whole line of skin care formulas, being a boss, changing my business from a Medi-Spa to a Holistic Health Center and sleeping through the night. The biggest challenge was time because I decided not to study traditional herbalism, instead to do my own research and development with my indigenous teachers and engross myself into the plant world. I also had to figure out how to convert my clients from chemical peels to plant and botanical therapies with the trust and confidence that I was still gaining.
I could have stayed pharmaceutical for a while longer while I made the transition, but once I put my mind to something reasonable things take the back seat. I am glad to say that through all of this, I still have many clients that started with me almost 20 years ago when I worked with plastic surgery and now enjoy a whole new concept of organic holistic skin care with the utmost beauty and radiance.
And my highest joy is that while I was in the stages of developing all my own formulas both to sell to clients and also the professional formulas that I used to give treatments I discovered a plethora of powerful techniques that I never even dreamed possible.

Now, I am so proud of this work because through this dedication and perseverance not only do we have a line of organic holistic skin care products that I can stand behind with full passion and love, but we have techniques to teach people how to give themselves facelifts at home. We have techniques for people that have suffered for years with severe acne to finally get to the root cause of their acne.
We have techniques and professional products that we use to teach aestheticians, facialists, massage therapists and chiropractors to unwind stress and trauma stored in the face that causes lines, wrinkles, sagging and unhealthy skin. I believe that the cosmetic industry is ready for a huge shift in how we see and connect with beauty. I believe that instead of burning our teenagers skin when they get acne and creating life-long feelings of unworthiness we can empower them to use their skin to understand their health at a deep level. I know that anyone who is ready can learn how to erase lines, wrinkles, and scars from their skin with their own hands.
I know that we can remember and re-integrate how to love and cherish our own beauty so that it blossoms and grows instead of withers and fades. Also, I travel all of the U.S. offering 5-day training to licensed professionals or 1-day training to be able to sell Nourishe Organics skincare line.
Our future projects are excitingly tangible as we are in the process of creating a network of online programs that people anywhere in the world can access to learn the truth about skin and how to heal their own skin. Many of our techniques include the obvious guidance towards healthy skin care and tons of information for people to educate themselves about ingredients and practices for their face. But this isn’t the only necessary tool for having healthy skin.
Since our face connects with all of the meridians in the body and also is affected by emotional blockages, core beliefs, trauma, stress and gut health we are giving the tools to incorporate many more techniques into our wellness practices specifically around the skin and facial health. We are teaming up with experts in Qi Gong, Tapping, Breath-work, Guided Meditation, Emotional Release Technologies, Astrology, Nutrition, Neuro Pathway Rewiring and more to give access to healthy skin with a truth and power that can change their entire perception of themselves.
I am so dedicated to organic it’s not even funny. I want to see the “organic” industry get a lot more authentic in their labeling. I am passionate about ending testing of cosmetics on animals. I fully believe that we can start now implementing practices in our business that are beneficial for our planet instead of destructive.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I absolutely love South Florida for the amazing friends and clients that I have here. We have a beautiful community of conscious, forward thinking and brilliant minds that are a part of creating more truth and wisdom in our world. I see such great potential in our youth who are standing up for their own rights and so importantly, the health of our planet.
I see that our potential for creating a sustainable business and personal practices is strong and happening right in front of my eyes. We have amazing organizations and groups offering events, ceremonies and gatherings to nourish the love and connection in our communities and I am grateful to be a part of these beautiful people’s lives.
