Meet Lynn Miner-Rosen of LMR Coaching

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynn Miner-Rosen.

Lynn, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles and graduated from UC Northridge. I went into the fashion industry in California and had a prominent role as a buyer. I was recruited by a large department store in New York and moved to Manhattan in 1989. Four years later, I got married, moved to Long Island and had two amazing kids. My youngest had challenges from a difficult delivery and I took on the role of mom and manager of therapies; physical therapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy. After 9 years as a stay-at-home mom, I decided to go back to school and achieved two master’s degrees from Adelphi University in Elementary Education and Special Education.

I became a special education teacher and business/computer teacher at a middle school in Queens, New York for 12 years. As a teacher, I realized that the young people with ADHD were not getting the support and assistance they needed in and out of the classroom. They were often labeled, misunderstood, bullied or just not introduced to the strategies that would help them. I considered if I could make an impact by working independently to help students manage this challenge. I met a few wonderful people who were ADHD Coaches and I realized that this was the direction for me to follow.

While teaching, I began my coach training on nights and weekends. I took online and classroom courses and began to work with clients. In October 2015, I decided to retire from teaching, move to Florida and start my own full-time business as an ADHD Coach, Life Coach and Career Development Coach. I specialize in working with High School Seniors, College Students and young adults throughout the United States.

Has it been a smooth road?
My biggest challenge was the decision to give up my comfortable salary and tenured position, move to a new city and start my own private practice. I hit the ground running in Florida by networking online, with the utilization of social media marketing, and in person networking events.

I started my own networking group, wrote BLOGS, attended and presented at conferences and made contacts all across the country. Now, I have a very busy, thriving practice. I live in Boca Raton, Florida with my husband, Stephen, a CPA, and we are surrounded by wonderful family and friends!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with LMR Coaching LLC – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
As an ADHD Coach, Life Coach and Career Development Coach, I combine my knowledge of ADHD, it’s neurobiology and cognition, to help my clients with time management, organization, and study skills, I work with my clients to help them understand ADHD and Executive Functions, to learn to be a self-advocate, to create goals, manage progress and accountability. In addition, I help my clients discover their interests as well as skills and abilities so that they can choose the best college major, a future career path, successful career search strategies and job skills.

Coaching involves creating a direct partnership with a young adult, supported through regular meetings and check-ins. During these meetings, my role is to empower my clients to achieve goals and enhance the quality of their lives through actionable steps that we agree on together. The most important goal is to foster independence, self-confidence and the ability to manage their challenges from ADHD for the rest of their lives.

Coaching is not therapy and I do not do homework for my clients. This is a partnership which requires action and input from both partners. In addition to coaching, I speak at Universities, Conferences, high schools and businesses about ADHD in school and work, social media responsibility, college-to-career readiness and myths and facts about ADHD. I educate teachers about ADHD and ASD through an NY based online teaching credit – based company. I love sharing what I know and giving support and encouragement to young people who face the challenges of ADHD. This is my passion!
