Meet Isabel Perez Salazar of Isabel Perez Salazar in Coral Springs and Broward County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabel Perez Salazar.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Isabel. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Since my childhood, my life has been surrounded by art. My early incursion with the arts was at eight years old with formal painting and drawing classes. I was the kind of kid and teenager that spent a lot of time drawing and dreaming. Then, years later I graduated and pursued my dream career in Fine arts at the Cristobal Rojas School of Visual Arts and received a scholarship in Drawing at the Federico Brandt Art Institute.

The curiosity is one of my powerful motors to investigate and create. Learning new techniques help you mastering your work. That is why I took several courses from Stained glass to wood carving, molding, drawing, photography and restoration. Last year I graduated with a certificate in Interior Decorating and Home Staging. Being a fine art and mixed media artist allows me to use a Kaleidoscope of techniques that help me transform everyday and usual elements into art pieces and extensions of my imagination and soul.

I had exhibited widely since I was eighteen years old, both nationally and internationally. In my background, I displayed some Art pieces at RED DOT art fair in Miami, IKEA, National Art Gallery in Venezuela, Sunrise City Center, Coral Springs Museum of Art, Correo del Orinoco Museum and more. On 2013 I won the Signature Artist Competition at the Coral Springs Festival of the Art.

Among many of others achievements, I received first place in the sculpture competition at the Ateneo Del Hatillo in Venezuela; first place with Faber- Castell at the National Art Gallery in Caracas, Venezuela; Best in Show at the Broward Art Guild 59th Anniversary Exhibit; Best in Mixed Media in the Art Competition at the Glass Gallery in Pembroke Pines; and Best in Show in the Gator Glam Project with the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I would like to start answering this question explaining how I got to where I am today. The key words are perseverance and believe in what you are doing. Art is not an easy road. They are moments that your work is well received In the Art Competitions and the Art world and sometimes is completely rejected. Getting involved with the community and Art Guilds are smart moves to introduce your work with the Cities and Artist venues.

One of the hardest struggles in my career was when I moved to Florida from Venezuela. Start in a different country is tough, you need to learn a new language, a new system and way of life. I moved to the United States more than ten years ago, the first two years were moments of adaptation, observation and discovery. Those years at the same time made me stronger. It took me some time to adapt to my new environment and then all that I was observing turns into Creations and Expressions about Florida and America.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Isabel Perez Salazar – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a Fine art and mixed media artist with extraordinary abilities and outstanding background in Mixed Media, sculpture and painting. People, colleagues and some art collector know my work because they are in some Important Institutions like Fort Lauderdale City Hall, Alliance Francaises in Caracas- Venezuela, Museo del Correo del Orinoco, Coral Springs Museum of Art, Centro de Arte Villa La Fuente Argentina, Art and Culture Center of Hollywood and private collections.

As an art lover and art Instructor I believed that a piece of Art has the power of visual stories; through images, you can enrich understanding. I intend to create positive social changes through the image to spread knowledge and it’s my way to be grateful and contribute. Art must bring out an artist fact sufficiently self-sustained that communicates and acts over the observer.

To be precise I offer quality, a professional trajectory of more than 20 years in the Art industry, sculpture, paintings, mural for public space and Art instruction for adults, kids and children with special needs. Art- Passion- creation-professionalism-responsibility.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I will continue to exhibit my work with the same passion and dedication. I would like to design Mural and Art for Public Space. As an Art Instructor since more than 16 years ago in Caracas and The Coral Springs Museum Of Art, I also want to continue to educate and give the right tools to my students so they can express themselves.

My future plans are KEEP GOING and fusion Art, design with Public Spaces. Of course that I have more plans… but sometimes you need to keep your secret until the right moment… and of course, give back to the community.
