Hidden Gems: Meet Meir Cioraru of Well Adjusted Chiropractic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meir Cioraru.

Hi Meir, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
As long as I can remember, I’ve loved using my hands. As a kid, I was very much into magic tricks, sleight of hand, even pen spinning (yes, that’s a thing). Mastering a trade with my hands was always a big focus.

In high school, I joined the wrestling team and began suffering from chronic shoulder dislocations, sometimes almost nightly. I consulted many professionals throughout Miami, but without luck for true relief and a longer-term solution. As I mentally prepared myself for surgery, my mother took me to her chiropractor as another approach. I was skeptical at first. However, he did a full assessment and explained how the nerves that exit at my neck are the same nerves that power my shoulder. Adjusting my neck with his hands, he was able to realign the spinal bones and heal my shoulder.

That experience rocked me – it wasn’t medicine, surgeries, or machines. But a well-trained doctor and his hands. In that moment, I knew it was more than a job or a career, it was a calling to empower others naturally through my hands. I wanted to help people live healthier lives with better movement, better function, and less pain, and what better place to start than Miami, where I grew up.

After moving away to study at the school where chiropractic, and particularly the Gonstead method began, I returned home and opened my practice: Well Adjusted Chiropractic, in the heart of Miami.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We like to say that “the original biohack is back” (pun intended), but when something has been around for a long time, it can get boxed in.

At its core, chiropractic care works with the nervous system. Adjustments help improve the brain-body connection so people can shift out of a constant fight-or-flight state and back into rest-and-digest. But it sometimes gets reduced to just “cracks.” So we have another saying: don’t chase the crack.

That’s one of the ongoing challenges, helping people understand what we actually do beyond the surface. There are many techniques within chiropractic, and I practice one known for its precision and specificity, the Gonstead method, often referred to as the gold standard and not as common to come across, even in Miami.

For us, it starts with really understanding the body. We take X-rays in-house on the first visit because to see is to know. I won’t adjust without first seeing the spine, measuring it with a Nervoscope, which is a tool that detects areas of nerve pressure and inflammation by registering heat differences along the spine, and looking at key lifestyle indicators.

And then beyond the clinical side, building the business has been its own journey. Finding the right location, building an office from scratch, and shaping a brand that captures how we want to engage with and contribute to the Miami community hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been incredibly rewarding, especially doing it together with my wife.

We’ve been impressed with Well Adjusted Chiropractic, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a family-focused, family-owned practice, caring for patients ranging from five days old to adults in their 80s. Our community includes professional athletes, stay-at-home moms, artists, fitness instructors, and individuals who are constantly traveling or sitting for long periods. Whether someone is focused on acute pain relief or taking a more upstream approach to long-term wellness, we’re a great partner on that journey.

Our work centers around the Gonstead method, widely known for being one of the most precise full-spine techniques in chiropractic and often referred to as the gold standard for its comprehensive approach. It involves a level of analysis many patients have never experienced before, using X-rays, a Nervoscope to assess the nervous system, and specialized tables that allow us to deliver highly specific and gentle adjustments.

Beyond the clinical side, we’re intentional about creating impact in our community. Each year, we host fundraisers for organizations close to our hearts, from dog rescue efforts with Paw Patrol and supporting families in need through Miami Diaper Bank, to contributing through meal donations during the holidays with The Care Place. It’s important to us that our practice gives back in a meaningful way, not just to the body, but to the community around us.

We also place a strong emphasis on patient experience and education. That includes hosting events like a mom-centered wellness gathering, where we brought together a pediatrician, doula, and pelvic floor therapist to support mothers holistically, as well as patient appreciation dinners, wine nights, and celebrations for milestones within the practice. These moments help build real relationships and create a sense of community among our patients.

We also introduce complementary wellness tools in a way that feels accessible, such as red laser therapy and simple stretch or exercise routines patients can integrate into daily life. In addition, we collaborate with local gyms and trainers, sharing education around mobility, recovery, and injury prevention to support people beyond the office.

We aim to bring a modern approach to traditional chiropractic care, focused on long-term correction in addition to symptom relief. Our goal is to help families Get Well and Stay Well!

How do you think about happiness?
Time with family, especially with our two young kids, is everything right now. I also genuinely love what I do, helping people feel better in their bodies and live more connected, healthy lives. When I can, being outside fishing brings me a lot of joy. Growing up in Miami, fishing with my dad and friends was a core memory.
