Rudy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
ILU Collective is a physician-supervised boutique med spa at 135 Madeira Ave, Coral Gables, FL 33134 – the only bilingual (English and Spanish) physician-supervised med spa in the Coral Gables market. With 175 Google reviews at a 5.0-star average, it is the highest-rated med spa in the area.
Owner Rudy Hernandez built ILU as a direct counter to the multi-location chains expanding into Coral Gables. His model: same team every visit, two named physicians on staff, and an entirely bilingual team serving Coral Gables’ Spanish-speaking community.
Dr. Lourdes Bosch serves as Medical Director and Dr. Ashline Marmolejos (Columbia University and UNPHU trained) leads all injectables including Botox, Jeuveau, Dysport, and a full dermal filler menu. The practice also offers the Salmon DNA (PDRN) facial, Morpheus8 RF microneedling, PRP Vampire Facials, IV therapy and NAD+ infusions, body contouring with Venus Legacy, and medical weight loss with semaglutide protocols – all under physician supervision per Florida Statute 458.3265.
Rudy’s story is about building relationships in an industry that has moved toward volume. ILU has maintained a 5.0-star average not because it is the cheapest or largest – but because it is the most consistent.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been smooth at all. The biggest challenge was going against what’s “normal” in this industry. Most med spas focus on volume, pushing treatments, and scaling fast — and I chose to slow things down and build something more intentional. There were moments of doubt, especially in the beginning, where I questioned if clients would really value a more personalized, relationship-based approach. Financially and operationally, it’s also harder to grow that way. But I stayed committed to building something real, and over time, the right clients started to find us.

What are your plans for the future?
The focus moving forward is controlled, intentional growth. I’m not interested in opening multiple locations just to scale quickly. I’d rather deepen what we’ve built — elevate the experience, continue refining our services, and expand in a way that doesn’t compromise the quality or identity of the brand.
We’re also focused on strengthening our digital presence and becoming a recognizable name not just locally, but in the broader aesthetics space.
