Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebeca Rodriguez.
Hi Rebeca , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Our story really begins with a leap of faith.
My husband and I are originally from Venezuela, where we spent several years developing our music careers—playing, singing, and recording for well-known Venezuelan artists and bands, including Latin Grammy-winning duo Chino & Nacho. We were part of Chino & Nacho’s band, performing on some of the biggest stages across Latin America, including iconic events like the Viña del Mar International Song Festival.
That chapter of our lives gave us invaluable experience—not only musically, but also in understanding what it takes to deliver world-class live performances at the highest level.
In 2014, due to the situation in our country, we made the difficult decision to leave everything behind and move to the United States in search of new opportunities and a better future. Like many immigrants, we arrived with big dreams, a lot of uncertainty—but also a strong sense of purpose.
Once in Miami, while we continued receiving opportunities to work with incredible artists such as Ricardo Montaner, Daddy Yankee, Wisin & Yandel, Elvis Crespo, and Luis Enrique, among many others, we felt a strong desire to build something of our own—something that reflected everything we had learned along the way.
In 2016, we created La Nota Band, combining our talents—Armando as a percussionist and drummer, and myself, Rebeca, as a singer—with a clear vision: to deliver high-level live entertainment while also becoming a source of opportunity for other musicians who, like us, were starting over in a new country.
It was also very important for us to share our Latin roots and the musical heritage we carry from Venezuela, while embracing the multicultural energy of Miami. That’s how our signature style was born—a seamless blend of Latin and American music that connects with diverse audiences and keeps every dance floor full.
Over the years, through consistency, passion, and a lot of hard work, La Nota Band has grown into a trusted name for weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations—not just in South Florida, but beyond.
What started as a dream during a challenging time has become something we’re incredibly proud of: a band that not only delivers unforgettable experiences, but also represents resilience, culture, and the joy of bringing people together through music.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—but every challenge has been part of the journey that shaped who we are today.
Starting over in a new country was not easy. When we moved to Miami, we had to rebuild everything from scratch—our network, our opportunities, and even our sense of stability. There were moments of uncertainty, learning how the industry works here, adapting to a new culture, and proving ourselves all over again.
At the same time, building La Nota Band came with its own challenges. Growing a team, maintaining consistency, and creating a strong reputation in a competitive market takes time, patience, and a lot of hard work.
But if anything, those challenges pushed us to grow, to stay focused, and to never lose sight of why we started. Today, we see every obstacle as part of the story—and as proof that with passion, discipline, and perseverance, it’s possible to turn a difficult beginning into something truly meaningful.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At La Nota Band, we specialize in high-energy live entertainment for weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations. Our focus is creating unforgettable experiences where every detail—from the music to the flow of the night—feels seamless, personalized, and elevated.
What truly sets us apart is our ability to blend cultures through music. We specialize in multicultural events, bringing together the best of Latin and American music in a way that feels natural, exciting, and inclusive for all guests. Whether it’s a diverse wedding crowd or an international corporate event, we know how to read the room and keep the energy exactly where it needs to be.
We’re also known for our versatility. Our repertoire spans everything from today’s hits to timeless classics, across genres like pop, salsa, merengue, reggaeton, disco, and more—all performed live, in both English and Spanish. But beyond the music itself, we pride ourselves on delivering a full experience, including professional MCing, smooth transitions, and a strong connection with the audience.
Another thing we’re especially proud of is the level of musicianship within our band. Our team is made up of highly skilled professionals with real industry experience, and that translates into a sound and stage presence that feels polished, authentic, and exciting.
What we’re most proud of, though, is the impact we have on each event. Seeing a packed dance floor from the first song to the last, watching different generations and cultures come together, and knowing we helped create memories that people will carry with them—that’s what truly drives us.
At the end of the day, we’re not just playing music—we’re creating moments. And that’s what makes La Nota Band different.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
One of the biggest pieces of advice we can give is simple: don’t give up.
Building a career in this industry takes time, patience, and resilience. There will be challenges and moments of doubt, but consistency is key—the people who keep going are the ones who eventually see results.
It’s also very important to be clear about your values from the beginning. Talent is only part of the equation. What truly takes you far is professionalism, responsibility, respect, and how you treat others. Your reputation matters, and being reliable and easy to work with will open many doors.
Stay open to learning, keep growing, and trust the process. Success doesn’t happen overnight—but with discipline and perseverance, it will come.
