Rising Stars: Meet Elena Jimenez of Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elena Jimenez.

Hi Elena, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Elena, and I am from Colombia, from a beautiful small city called Valledupar—where the rhythm of the accordion blends with the singing of the birds, creating an explosion of color through its flowers and its people.

I came to this country when I was 16 years old. I have always been passionate about art. I’ve always paid close attention to detail and consider myself a bit of a perfectionist, especially when it comes to my creative work.

I graduated from AI- Miami International University of Art and Design with a Bachelor’s degree in Art / Fashion Design. Even though my career path has changed over time, my passion for art, color, and design has never changed.

Through my piñatas, I express myself creatively while also building a connection with each customer. I love creating and personalizing something unique that becomes part of someone’s special moment.

Faustina started eight years ago when a friend called me and asked if I could make a “taco piñata.” Without hesitation, I said, “Yes!” That simple moment became the beginning of my small business. What started as one project has grown little by little into something very special.

Over time, I have worked hard to grow my business, always with the goal of bringing happiness to every customer through my work. I’ve expanded my creations to include cupcake toppers, cake toppers, and other custom party crafts, always guided by creativity, passion, and attention to detail.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been an easy road for me. There is a lot of competition out there, and many people don’t want to pay the right price for your work or your art. Social media has also been really challenging for me creating content every day is hard, and as a mom, it’s even harder to find the time to sit down and create everything.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Each piñata I create is handmade with patience, care, and a strong attention to detail. I take the time to understand my customer’s vision, from colors and themes to the smallest details, so I can bring their ideas to life in a unique and meaningful way.

Every piñata is one of a kind, designed to reflect the personality of each celebration. For me, it’s not just about making a piñata, it’s about creating a special piece that becomes part of a memory and brings joy to every event.i specialize in creating custom, personalized piñatas and party crafts that are designed to make each celebration truly unique.

From piñatas to cupcake and cake toppers, my work is all about attention to detail, creativity, and bringing my clients’ ideas to life in a special way.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
The role of luck in Faustina means everything to me. The name Faustina comes from Latin, derived from the Roman name Faustus, meaning “fortunate,” “lucky,” or “blessed.” It can be interpreted as “the fortunate one” or “she who is favored,” and it was also my grandmother’s name.

I create every piece in her honor. She reminds me to never give up, to keep going, and to believe that anything is possible.

For me, Faustina is not just a business, it’s a symbol of strength, love, and the belief that with passion and perseverance, we can create our own luck.
