Today we’d like to introduce you to Janet Bravo.
Janet , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started the business alongside my mother, but it really began with her vision. She wanted to build something that would give our family more flexibility and stability, which led us to invest in a cleaning service franchise.
What began as a practical decision quickly revealed a larger opportunity. The business grew faster than expected, and when COVID hit, demand for cleaning services increased significantly. At the time, I was working in fashion, but I made the decision to step away from that industry and fully commit to building the business.
That transition was a turning point. I went from supporting the business to actively shaping it. Coming from a completely different industry, I saw early on that cleaning services often lacked structure, which led to inconsistency. That perspective pushed me to approach the business differently.
Working alongside my mother, we evolved from simply operating a service into building a more structured company. She brought the foundation and experience, while I focused on systems, scalability, and long-term growth.
Over time, I’ve concentrated on refining our processes, building a reliable team, and creating a level of consistency that’s often missing in this space. What started as a small, family-driven operation has grown into a company that services both residential and commercial clients, with a strong emphasis on professionalism, accountability, and delivering a higher standard.
While the business has grown, that original intention to build something sustainable, reliable, and meaningful for our family still drives everything we do.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. In the beginning, everything was very hands-on, my mom and I were involved in every part of the operation, from managing clients to coordinating cleaners and overseeing the details. It gave us a strong foundation, but it also made it clear how quickly things can become overwhelming without structure.
One of the biggest challenges for me was stepping into the business from a completely different industry. I came from fashion, and while I had experience managing teams, applying that to a service-based business required a different level of adaptability and problem-solving. I had to learn quickly and operate with a much higher level of ownership.
As the business grew, the challenge shifted from doing everything ourselves to building something that didn’t depend on us. Learning to step back, build a team, and implement systems while still maintaining standards was a critical part of that transition.
There are also the day-to-day realities of this type of business: staffing issues, last-minute schedule changes, and managing different client expectations. It’s not always predictable, which is why staying solution-oriented and consistent in how you operate becomes essential.
Looking back, those challenges forced us to become more disciplined and more structured. They pushed us to build something that isn’t just growing, but is stable, consistent, and designed to operate long-term.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
ASJB Group is a residential and commercial cleaning company based in South Florida, but more importantly, it’s a company built around structure in an industry that often lacks it.
Cleaning is a highly competitive space, but most companies operate without clear systems, which leads to inconsistency. From early on, we made a deliberate decision to approach this differently, focusing not just on the service itself, but on how that service is delivered. Everything we’ve built is centered around process, accountability, and attention to detail.
We primarily work with high-end residential clients and commercial spaces where expectations are higher and consistency matters. Our role goes beyond simply “cleaning”, we create a standard our clients can rely on without needing to manage or follow up.
What sets us apart is the level of structure behind the operation. Instead of relying on individual performance, we’ve built systems, checklists, and a team culture that ensures every service meets the same standard, regardless of who is assigned. That allows us to scale while maintaining quality.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of how we’ve shifted the perception of what a cleaning company can be. We’ve intentionally positioned ourselves as a service partner rather than a vendor–more organized, more intentional, and more aligned with the standards of the clients we serve.
At the core, we’re not focused on one-time services. We’re building long-term relationships where clients trust that their spaces will be consistently maintained at a high level. That reliability and peace of mind is ultimately what we deliver.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
One thing this experience has reinforced for me is that there’s always an opportunity to raise the standard, regardless of the industry. Cleaning isn’t traditionally seen as a “glamorous” business, but it’s essential—and there’s a significant gap when it comes to structure, professionalism, and consistency.
That’s the gap we’re building to fill.
This business is also very personal to me. It started as something my mom wanted to create for our family, and over time it’s evolved into a real company with long-term vision. Being able to grow it together, refine it, and turn it into something structured and scalable has been one of the most meaningful parts of the journey.
It’s also pushed me into a different level of leadership. I’ve had to become more disciplined, more consistent, and more focused on long-term thinking—because building something sustainable requires that.
If there’s one thing I’d want people to take away, it’s that you don’t have to follow a traditional path to build something valuable. But you do have to be intentional about how you build it.
