Today we’d like to introduce you to Casey Amaya And Andrew Perez.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Attorney Casey Amaya is among Florida’s rising condominium and homeowners’ association (HOA) attorneys, known for her strong legal insight and precision. She was born in Cuba and arrived in the United States at the age of six with nothing but the clothes she was wearing on the day she left the island. Her parents made the difficult decision to leave everything behind in search of safety and opportunity, centering their lives on one goal: building a better future for Casey through education.
At 17, she began her first job working for a law firm located in a condominium building unrelated to community association law, without realizing at the time that she was stepping into the very world she would one day build her career in. Even then, she was driven, determined, and naturally curious about the legal field. What started as a first job quietly became the foundation for her future. Over the next decade, she remained focused and committed, steadily pursuing her dream and ultimately establishing herself in condominium and homeowners’ association (HOA) law. Today, in a true full-circle moment, her office is located in that very same building where she first got her start at 55 Merrick Way, Suite 212, Coral Gables, FL 33134.
She earned the prestigious Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship while studying at Miami Dade Honors College, as one of only 47 students selected nationwide. She later continued her education at St. Thomas University College of Law, where she discovered her passion for condominium and homeowners’ association (HOA) law and excelled academically. Casey completed a certificate in Real Estate Law and earned CALI Awards, awarded to the student with the highest grade in the class, in both Condominium and Construction Law.
The first attorney in her family, Casey built her career from the ground up with purpose and determination. Prior to co-founding Ampere Law Firm, she coauthored a book on condominium living, published work on evolving condominium legislation, and dedicated her practice to protecting community associations. Her experience includes working at one of Florida’s largest condominium law firms, as well as providing hands-on hotline support for associations navigating complex issues.
Today, she continues that mission alongside her law partner, attorney Andrew M. Perez, through her own firm, representing community associations, including condominium buildings and homeowners’ associations, across Florida as well as other corporates clients. As a bilingual attorney, she proudly serves clients in both English and Spanish, ensuring clear communication and accessible legal guidance for a diverse community.
Casey attributes her success to the sacrifices of her parents, her persistence, and the trust of her clients.
Andrew M. Perez, co-founder of Ampere Law Firm, developed an early interest in the law through a natural inclination toward problem-solving and a desire to help others. From a young age, his family, with backgrounds in law and real estate investment, encouraged him to think critically and approach issues from multiple angles. This environment helped shape and ultimately confirm his decision to pursue a legal career focused on solving complex problems within communities and businesses.
He attended Florida International University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and received a Certificate in Pre-Law Skills and Professional Values. He went on to earn his J.D. with honors from St. Thomas University College of Law, where he received the CALI Award for excellence in Criminal Law and served as President of the Federalist Society. He also earned a Certificate in Real Estate Law, further strengthening his foundation in property and transactional matters.
After being admitted to the Florida Bar, Andrew became a top-producing litigator at one of Florida’s largest law firms. There, he managed hundreds of cases on behalf of major property insurers, handling all phases of litigation from motion practice and discovery to settlement negotiations and trial. This experience sharpened his ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining clear and consistent communication with clients.
Today, Andrew serves as general counsel to numerous condominium and homeowner associations across Florida, advising on governance, compliance, and risk management. He also represents businesses, landlords, and property owners in a wide range of disputes, including contractor and construction matters, providing practical and strategic legal guidance tailored to each client’s needs.
Andrew remains committed to solving problems for his clients with a thoughtful and strategic approach, always analyzing issues from every angle to achieve the best possible outcome. His practice is driven by a focus on clarity, efficiency, and results, ensuring that clients are not only represented, but guided through complex legal challenges with confidence.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Casey moved to the United States at a young age, where she had to learn a new language and build her life from the ground up. Her early years were defined by adjustment, perseverance, and the challenge of proving herself in a new country and later within the legal profession.
Andrew dedicated himself early in his career to becoming a skilled, high-producing attorney, working seven days a week and often being the first to arrive in the office. Starting his days at four in the morning, he made the sacrifice required to continually refine his practice.
When Casey and Andrew founded Ampere Law Firm, they did so without financial backing or external advantages. Both were young associates taking the leap into establishing and owning a law firm, relying instead on discipline, long hours, and commitment to their clients. In the firm’s early months, they worked late into the night to build and sustain the practice, driven by a shared vision and a determination to succeed despite the challenges.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Ampere Law Firm, headquartered in Coral Gables, is a Florida-based law practice focused on condominium and homeowners’ association (HOA) law, representing community associations across the state. The firm primarily provides practical, solutions-driven legal counsel to community association boards, guiding them through the day-to-day and long-term legal needs of community governance.
The firm’s work includes advising on governance, compliance, enforcement, construction-related issues, and dispute resolution. It is known for being responsive, detail-oriented, and accessible, with a strong emphasis on clear communication and practical legal solutions rather than overly complex or academic advice.
A defining feature of the firm is its 24-hour response time commitment. Clients can expect timely communication and consistent follow-up, ensuring that urgent matters are addressed without unnecessary delay. The firm also prioritizes meeting clients where they are, both literally and figuratively, by remaining flexible, accessible, and engaged in the environments where community decisions are made.
Ampere Law Firm takes pride in being active attorneys rather than distant advisors. The team is hands-on in its representation, staying closely involved in the day-to-day realities of the associations it serves and providing guidance that is practical, immediate, and actionable.
What sets the firm apart is the pillars it was built on: responsiveness, reliability, and earning trust through consistent results. The firm is particularly proud of its growth from a small, early-stage practice into a trusted legal resource for condominium and HOA communities throughout Florida. At its core, Ampere Law Firm exists to support community associations in maintaining strong, well-managed communities while navigating the legal complexities of shared living environments.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to us is being truly present for the communities and clients we represent. The issues they face become ours to actively address and resolve, and as attorneys, we believe we must remain available, responsive, and accessible in order to best advise our clients. We focus on providing proper guidance on compliance and ensuring adherence to Florida law, with clear and practical direction they can rely on.
This matters to us because most of our clients are corporations such as condominiums or HOAs hat operate in real time and often under pressure, where delays or lack of communication can quickly create larger problems. Our approach is rooted in the belief that legal counsel should not feel distant or unavailable, but instead engaged, responsive, and actively involved in helping clients navigate challenges as they arise.
