Today we’d like to introduce you to Rob Budowsky.
Rob, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m a CPA, a music lover, and a musician. I saw a local band play that I thought was great and soon after that show, they posted their name followed by “Inc.” on social media. I messaged them to let them know that I could help them with the accounting and taxes for their new company and we developed a relationship that’s still going strong after 17 years. Through that relationship, I met other musicians, agents, and music industry people and eventually started bringing bands to Miami that had bypassed us in the past because Miami was so “geographically undesirable”. (After all. it’s 8 hours round trip between here and the next closest market.) While the show bookings have slowed since Covid, my CPA practice has grown with the help of an amazing staff and a wonderful group of clients.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was hard to attract new business in the early years but through networking and working lots of hours, we have built a business of nice clients.

We work with small business owners and individuals to help them manage their financial lives and minimize their tax bite. We feel strongly that open communication is the key to long lasting relationships. Many of our professional relationships are still going after 20 years.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
AI is certainly something that we have our eyes on. It’s a tool that we use to provide better and faster service to our clients. We are confident that CPAs will continue to use AI to provide improved service to their clients.
