Rising Stars: Meet Chelsi Molina of Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsi Molina.

Hi Chelsi, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
What got me into leading the run club really started with my own need to find a community. I grew up playing soccer, so running was always a part of my life, but I missed that team environment. When I joined the club, I found exactly what I was looking for—connection, support, and that shared energy. About a year later, I was passed the leadership torch, and it’s been incredibly meaningful ever since.

Yes, we’re a run club, but it’s so much more than that—being around people in a positive, uplifting space is what really makes it special. I love how it brings together people from all different walks of life, all paces and backgrounds, just showing up and moving together.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest struggles has been stepping into leadership as a woman in what can sometimes feel like a male-dominated space. Earning respect isn’t always automatic—you have to consistently show up, lead with confidence, and prove yourself in ways that aren’t always expected of others.

It can also be challenging not always “looking” like what people expect a runner to look like. There are a lot of assumptions in this space, and I’ve had to push past that and remind myself—and others—that runners come in all forms.

And beyond that, people don’t always realize it’s not just about showing up for a run. I’ve had to wear so many different hats—therapist, meteorologist, calendar coordinator, social media manager—you name it. It takes a lot behind the scenes to keep everything going.

And honestly, it’s also about showing up on the days you might not want to. You’re human, you have your own ups and downs, but people are counting on you. Learning how to lead through that—and still create a positive space for others—has been one of the most challenging but rewarding parts of it all.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Outside of the run club, I work in Talent Acquisition as a sourcer in the biomedical space. My role is all about connecting the right people to opportunities that ultimately make a real impact on others’ lives, which is something I’m really passionate about.

Being in that field constantly reminds me how important cardiovascular health is—not just in theory, but in real, everyday life. It’s a big part of why movement and running mean so much to me.

In a lot of ways, my job and the run club overlap. One is about building teams and creating impact on a professional level, and the other is about building community and supporting people on a personal level. Both have shown me how powerful it is to bring people together with a purpose.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I’d say adaptability is one of the most important qualities to my success. Whether it’s in my career or leading the run club, things are always changing and not everything goes as planned. Being able to adjust, stay positive, and still show up for others is key.

It also ties into consistency—showing up even on the days I don’t feel like it, because people are counting on me. That reliability builds trust and community.

And beyond that, I think empathy plays a big role. Between my work in Talent Acquisition and leading a run club, I’m constantly working with people from all different backgrounds. Being able to understand, connect, and create a supportive environment is what really allows me to make an impact.
