Today we’d like to introduce you to Cecilia “C.V.” Shaw.
Cecilia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story begins with an ambitious dream and a subconscious excitement for challenge. The more difficult—the more I wanted to prove I could accomplish it—for there was nothing to be lost, only to be gained should I succeed, and so forward I went.
I’ve always been mystified by the mystical. The mysteries of the Universe always taking precedence in my mind. I began researching the healing benefits of herbs and crystals at the age of 18. I became a hypnotherapist at age 22, then later immersing myself into the field of physical therapy. I found myself torn because I was also a writer at heart. It was a passion of equal degree. I wrote poetry since I was a child and always dreamed of one day writing books. I switched gears, dropped the medical field and began writing for magazines and newspapers and some poetry still. But that did not fulfill as I imagined. I wanted to create a fictional world, make up characters and control the ending… but I also found myself craving to service in the medical field, all the while, still mesmerized by the invisible forces of our magnificent Universe.
Soon after, I was afflicted with severe trigeminal neuralgia. A pain in the head, jaw and teeth that is pretty unbearable. I could find no resolve from western medicine, except pain killers that would sedate me much of the day. That was quite debilitating and dysfunctional to my life. I was intuitively nudged to seek a Chinese medicine doctor. That was the first time I received an acupuncture treatment. After two weeks of severe pain, my discomfort vanished in 30 min… and I knew this was a calling.
Years later, I enrolled in Acupuncture College, eventually earning my doctorate degree from Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine, with a specialty in infertility. Being immersed in this world of energy healing, I continued to find modalities to add to my practice becoming a quantum energy medicine practitioner. Some of the modalities I studied include: BodyTalk, Reiki, Cranio-Sacral therapy, Bio-geometry, and more.
I also discovered a powerful course that changed my life—”MindScape” taught by the Int’l BodyTalk Association. I took this course several times. I couldn’t get enough of it and decided to teach this MindScape Course. This information and techniques needed to get out into the world, and I wanted to be part of it.
The MindScape class teaches one how to access the untapped percentage of the mind we don’t use, and it is VERY powerful. Mind-blowing as per the students’ comments on the last day of the course.
Living in such a high-frequency environment allowed me attain my dream of publishing a book. In 2020, my debut novel, “The Spell” was introduced to the world. And in it, there is mystery and magic, herbs, and healing. All my passions typed onto its pages…fictionally.
I have continued my writing since then, publishing award winning poetry and short stories as well as working on future novels. I was lucky to find South Florida Writers Association, which I now sit on their Board of Directors as Conference Chair. I get to organize their annual Mango Writing Conference. It will be an epic one coming up in February 2026.
In 2002, I strolled the streets at the Miami Book Fair, dreaming about “one day…” Well, one day came in 2025 and once again this year coming up in November, I will again be at the Miami Book Fair behind the SFWA author’s booth, signing and talking about “The Spell.”
When you’re in alignment, your passions become your purpose, and it never feels like work—just magic!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not a smooth road, but always with a smile on my face. I was a single mother of two with an out of state father. Working, attending college, and two kids is not an easy task, but, like I mentioned, give me a challenge and my passion will conquer it!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I feel accomplished and am proud to be a licensed Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Quantum Energy Medicine Practitioner and a MindScape Instructor.
In this field what sets me apart is the intuitive aspect as I am considered a medical intuitive.
I offer these services with passion and compassion; however, I am most proud of my writing. To write a novel was a dream since I was a wee child. The joy writing brings to me is immeasurable.
To make my writing journey cosmic, two pieces of poetry about the moon was accepted into an anthology “Sea of Tranquility” and will be headed to the moon in a time capsule, slated for February 2026. Talk about cosmic dreams!
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I have found that one learns a lot from others who are also learning at the same time. One grows together in a special way… so much to discover in others’ journey, especially when you understand they are mirrors of your own. It’s like you have to set yourself apart so you can look at yourself objectively and with less self-judgement.
Joining courses and associations and becoming involved in the community, volunteering in whatever field you’re trying to grow in will surely lead to finding exceptional mentors.
