Meet Kendra Orr of Jacovitz Learning Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendra Orr.

Hi Kendra, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I completed educational research in Asia after ten years of teaching Algebra, Biology, English, and Spanish. Due to changes in educational policies, I opened a tutoring business. We work with students who have behavioral and learning disabilities. We also tutor average and advanced students in college preparatory exams and in other subjects.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No. The road has been difficult. The first year I had enough to pay bills for utilities but, not for office space. These struggles continued for three years.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We sell books and tutor students. We have books for early literacy learners.

Our books are in Barnes and Noble and on Amazon.com.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My father and mother used to pay my younger brother and I for each book report we wrote. I was in fifth grade and he was in first. We had different writing styles due to our ages.
