Wendy Alguera of Miami Beach on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Wendy Alguera shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Wendy, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
I think people are secretly struggling with comparing themselves to others. Each one of us have our own god given gifts that make us unique, and sometimes we forget we need to share them with the world because they are not for us but for the people to be inspired and enjoy them. Our paths are different and individual and maybe you have a beautiful voice to sing, or eye for creating art, or decorating. Don’t let yourself be discouraged by seeing somebody else being more successful than you because they’re on a different part of their journey. Share your light in your own way that makes you happy and forget about everybody else. You’re right where you’re meant to be so keep going with your head straight directed towards your goals and dreams. And remember, not everything that shines it’s gold. It may look like they have it all put together but underneath it all, there’s a lot of lies and fakeness, so always use your intuition and discernment to guide you forward.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Wendy Alguera, a communicator at heart and a content creator by calling. Through beauty, storytelling, and authenticity, I share my truth in hopes of inspiring others to embrace theirs. My path hasn’t been linear, but it’s been deeply meaningful, and I know it’s just the beginning.

I was born in Boaco, a small city in Nicaragua, where my roots run deep and my connection to Mother Earth was formed early. I grew up riding horses on my dad’s farm, dancing freely in front of a camera, and dreaming big. I’ve always had a soft heart for animals, especially dogs, which sparked my first dream of becoming a veterinarian after losing my childhood pup.

Life took me on many turns, from moving cities to learning about makeup, modeling, and eventually finding my creative voice through content. Traveling to the U.S. at 14 opened a world full of possibilities, and even then, I felt deep down that I was meant to be here. Today, I’m living that dream, with gratitude, faith, and the belief that when you walk with purpose and trust God’s timing, everything unfolds as it should.

I studied Communication and Public Relations, not knowing then how beautifully it would all align with my purpose. Now, I collaborate with brands whose values resonate with mine using my platform as both a muse and a messenger to help bring light and intention into the world.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Bonds between people often break not because of one dramatic moment, but because of the slow buildup of unspoken words, unmet needs, or repeated misunderstandings. Sometimes it’s betrayal or dishonesty, but other times it’s just silence, the quiet growing apart that happens when both sides stop showing up emotionally. We assume, we withdraw, we protect ourselves, and before we know it, the connection that once felt effortless starts to feel distant or even lost.

What restores them is presence, listening and a sincere “I’m sorry” or “I miss you.” Bonds are repaired when both people choose to show up again, with empathy and effort. It takes courage to repair what’s been damaged. Sometimes, all it takes is one person being brave enough to say, “This hurt me”. Vulnerability, empathy, and active listening are powerful tools of restoration. When both people are willing to be honest, to forgive, and to take responsibility for their part, healing can happen. Restoring a bond isn’t about going back to how things were, it’s about creating something new from a place of deeper understanding and care.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering stripped away everything that wasn’t real. It humbled me, softened me, and taught me how to surrender. While success gave me confidence, suffering gave me wisdom. It reminded me that grace lives in the quiet, in the broken places, and in the moments where you have no one but God and your own breath. Sometimes you need to go through really hard situations to find out your own strength, resilience and light. Just like diamonds are formed under immense pressure, our most powerful transformations often come from our most difficult moments.

It has taught me how to be present, how to love people better, and how to find peace in the in-between. It showed me that healing doesn’t always look pretty but it’s sacred. Success can validate you, but suffering transforms you. That’s a kind of beauty no achievement can offer. And most importantly, its in these moments where your relationship with God becomes more intimate because all the noise and distractions are gone, and in that raw silence, you often find yourself closer to God than ever before. Not because everything is perfect, but because you finally let go, and trust him completely. That’s where real transformation happens.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief you used to hold tightly but now think was naive or wrong?
I used to believe that if I worked hard enough, planned carefully, and did everything ‘right,’ life would go exactly the way I wanted. I thought success and happiness were things I could earn through perfection and control. But life has shown me otherwise. There were moments when I gave it my all, and things still fell apart. That used to frustrate me, until I realized it wasn’t failure, it was redirection.

What I thought was rejection was actually protection. What I saw as a delay was preparation. I’ve learned that no matter how hard I try, some things are simply out of my hands and that’s okay. Faith in God means trusting that even when I can’t see the full picture, he can because he has a bigger and better plan for me. Letting go of control didn’t make me weaker; it made me more peaceful. Now, I move with purpose, but I don’t force outcomes. I show up, I do my part and I leave the rest to Him.

What’s meant for you will never miss you and what isn’t will never stay, no matter how much you try to hold on. Surrendering to that truth has brought me more peace than any amount of control ever could.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope the story people tell about me when I’m gone isn’t about how much money I made or what I achieved on paper, but about how I made them feel. I hope they remember the love I gave freely, the way I listened, the way I showed up with an open heart.

I hope they say I helped them feel seen, inspired them to believe in something greater, and reminded them of their own light. That I shared spiritual truths that touched their soul, not just things I read, but wisdom I lived and learned through experience.

I want to be remembered not for what I had, but for what I gave: love, truth, and faith.
