Today we’d like to introduce you to Jo’Dane Craigman.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jo’Dane. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My career in marketing began over 15 years ago, shortly after I graduated from high school. A high school classmate was involved with a small firm and asked me to assist her in developing an all-girls promotional street team. The opportunity intrigued me and so I quickly agreed to enter the marketing world; I haven’t looked back since. After a year of successfully managing several marketing campaigns with the small firm, I accepted a position as the Director of Marketing and Promotions for one of the largest nightclubs on South Beach, which was run by Gerry Kelly. After that, I briefly left the Miami scene to play Division 1 college football and obtain a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology at the University of Kentucky. I decided to major in sociology so that I could more aptly understand the dynamics of marketing, culture and people.
After graduating, of course, I found myself back in marketing; however, I quickly realized that within the short 4-year span, almost everything in marketing had changed entirely. With the birth of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, the digital market was the “new thing,” and I was determined to master it. I launched my first small business in 2010 and I was able to utilize everything learned in the digital marketing space, paired with my understanding of people to become successful. As I started networking with local business owners and operators, I discovered that a significant pain point for them was marketing, which is something that I love. Shortly after that, I launched Intravate Consultants. Our niche is to develop comprehensive and smart digital marking campaigns that allow small business owners to focus on running the business (and not become bogged down with the iterative digital marketing learning curve). Over the last several years, we have expanded our client list to include restaurant owners, political candidates, physicians and medical facilities. We’ve been on an incredible trajectory and I am excited for what the future holds.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
After the countless hours of researching digital marketing, I felt confident starting Intravate Consultants. Even with extensive preparation, I notice that a majority of clients needed more than digital marketing, as they lack brand presence and an overall polish product. I wasn’t prepared in inject myself into the inner workings of my clients business, but there I was, giving tips and pointers on how to scale their business. I wouldn’t say it was a challenge, but just an unexpected turn. I always respect my client’s wishes, but I do not want them to fail, so I feel it my duty to guide them in the right direction.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Intravate Consultants – what should we know?
