Hi Mark , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
From the Hood to Digital Influence: My Journey
I started out as a kid from the hood with a dream of becoming a rapper. Music was my first outlet, my first way of being heard. But everything changed when God met me right where I was. I gave my life to Jesus, and that moment wrecked me in the best way. I had an encounter with Jesus that lit a fire in me to share my story and the gospel with everyone I knew.
That passion spilled onto the internet. I started using social media not just to talk but to share my story and my testimony the good news of what Jesus did!. Before I knew it, people were resonating with my story. The reach kept growing, and suddenly I was getting messages like, “How are you doing this?” “How are you blowing up on YouTube and TikTok?”
At first, I gave answers freely. But eventually, I realized this was more than advice. This was strategy. And strategy is valuable. So I started consulting and coaching people… and that’s what inspired me to launch Digital Influencer Co. a company that helps people scale their online influence and income.
Now, I get to combine my faith, creativity, and strategy to help others show up online with clarity, confidence, and conviction. What started with a kid and a dream turned into a mission: to help others transform their story into a platform for impact.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not, the road hasn’t been smooth. There were seasons I felt deeply lonely, like no one truly understood the vision or believed in what I was building. There were moments I questioned everything. But through it all, I have to shout out my wife, she was the one consistently encouraging me to go all in and pursue this company at scale.
When I left my job in 2021, I thought another opportunity would come quickly… but it didn’t. Looking back, that closed door was a blessing in disguise. It forced me to bet on myself, to lean into the call God had placed on my life, and to begin building my digital influence and this company from the ground up.
