Meet Ismael Trivino of IZZY PR

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ismael Trivino.

Ismael Trivino

Hi Ismael, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey began in the world of journalism, where I spent over a decade as a Senior Producer and Journalist at CNN en Español. It was there that I honed my passion for storytelling, working behind the scenes and on-air to bring global audiences closer to the stories that shape our world. That experience gave me a deep understanding of how narratives move people—and how media can create real impact.

Before CNN, I served as Correspondent, Director, (2005-2011) Senior Producer, and On-Air Talent for W Radio in Miami, covering key events and helping expand the voice of Latin American journalism in the U.S. From 2017 to 2021, I took on a new challenge as Director of Communications and Marketing for ProColombia across the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean. That role allowed me to blend media, diplomacy, and business, positioning Colombia as a leading destination for investment, exports, tourism, and culture in North America.

More recently, from 2022 to 2024, I went back to W Radio as a senior producer & on-air talent and contributed regularly to Forbes Colombia, where I explored trends in business, leadership, and innovation.

All these experiences led to the creation of Izzy PR—a boutique agency born from my belief in the power of authentic storytelling. I wanted to bring my media expertise into the world of branding and strategic communications, helping purpose-driven brands connect with audiences in meaningful ways.

In just 2025, we’ve had the privilege of working with clients and collaborators such as Ferrari Club of America, Vogue, Miami Swim Week, Abellon Law, Eichholtz Gallery, The Collector’s House Conversations, Rums of Puerto Rico, The Vessel Miami, Bojanini Experts US, and The Tourism Lab among others.

Today, Izzy PR is more than a PR agency—it’s a creative force that amplifies visionary voices, shapes culture, and delivers strategic impact.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not always a smooth road—but every challenge has been part of the growth.

Transitioning from the structured world of major media outlets like CNN en Español and W Radio to building my own agency was both exciting and daunting. I had to shift from being a journalist and producer to becoming an entrepreneur—someone who not only crafts stories but also builds teams, manages operations, develops client strategies, and navigates the business side of creativity.

One of the biggest early challenges was redefining my identity outside of the media brands I had worked with for so long. I had to build credibility in a new space while also educating clients about the value of strategic storytelling beyond traditional PR.

Another challenge, especially as a boutique agency, has been balancing creativity with scalability—making sure we deliver personalized, high-quality work while growing sustainably. And of course, like many others, the shifting media landscape and economic uncertainties post-pandemic forced us to rethink, adapt, and stay incredibly agile.

But through it all, I’ve learned that the most valuable thing you can offer—whether as a journalist, strategist, or entrepreneur—is clarity of purpose. Staying true to our mission of amplifying voices that inspire and create impact has helped us weather those challenges and turn them into fuel for innovation.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
IZZY PR is not your typical public relations agency—we’re a creative communications force with key industry strategic allies that blends journalistic storytelling, cultural strategy, and brand positioning to elevate voices that are shaping the future.

We specialize in working with visionary leaders, brands, and projects in industries like wellness, lifestyle, hospitality, tech, and culture. Our clients come to us not just for media exposure, but for narrative clarity—a strategic voice that aligns with their mission and connects deeply with their audiences.

What sets us apart is our media-first approach: I spent over a decade inside major newsrooms, so we know what makes a story worth telling. We don’t just write press releases—we craft narratives that resonate, inspire, and move the needle. Every campaign is built on authenticity, relevance, and cultural impact.

We’re also known for our high-touch, boutique model—our clients get senior-level attention, creative innovation, and strategic rigor at every step. We’re not just advisors; we become an extension of your team.

Brand-wise, I’m incredibly proud of the trust we’ve earned from clients like Rums of Puerto Rico, Ferrari Club of America, The Vessel Miami, Bojanini Experts US, LAFS, The Collector’s House Conversations, The Tourism Lab, Eichholtz Gallery, and even global editorial icons like Vogue and Forbes. These collaborations reflect the level of creative and strategic excellence we bring to every project.

Beyond media placements, we help our clients develop content ecosystems, thought leadership, event visibility, social impact strategies, and more. We’re also building original IP, including branded podcasts and curated cultural experiences, which allow our clients to connect with their audiences in deeper, more meaningful ways.

At its core, IZZY PR is about elevating purpose-driven voices. We believe that storytelling, when done right, can shift culture, spark movements, and open doors. That’s the legacy we’re building—and we’re just getting started.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?

I believe in a mix of preparation, intention, and alignment—and when those are in place, what people call “luck” tends to show up.

I’ve definitely had moments of what felt like good luck—being in the right room, meeting the right person, or having the right opportunity land at just the right time. But looking back, those moments usually happened after years of work, consistency, and showing up fully even when there were no guarantees. So I see luck more as the reward for staying ready and doing the internal and external work.

That said, I’ve also had my share of bad luck—projects that fell apart at the last minute, deals that didn’t close, or media moments that didn’t go as planned. But even those experiences taught me resilience, timing, and the importance of staying grounded in your vision no matter what’s happening externally.

In the end, I think luck plays a role—but it’s what you do with it that truly defines your path. And in my case, every “lucky” moment has been backed by years of discipline, relationship-building, and a deep commitment to storytelling with purpose.
