So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I decided about 3 years ago I wanted to blog about Fashion. Since I am a mother, I thought “The Stylish Mommy” fit me well for my blog name. I Instagram blogged for a few months and then stopped for some time. I started it back up, but this time I was more motivated to keep it consistent.
Slowly, I started bringing in not just my outfits, but also my children (lifestyle) and beauty as well. I felt having more variety to my blog would make me more interesting. It took time with follower count, getting good pictures etc. But learning to be consistent and never giving up is what got me to where I am today.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Instagram and blogging definitely has not been a perfectly smooth ride. There were plenty bumps along the way. My main struggle was getting my photos on Instagram to be seen by others as well as getting engaged followers. Also, it was such a struggle figuring out how to take the right pictures not to mention, to this day it is still a struggle. Not only taking the pictures (as I do also have a full-time job) but setting those pictures up on my feed so it flows.
Keeping my feed consistent is definitely my main struggle at this point. My main advice for others who want to start on this journey is to make sure you post consistently. If that means posting once a day, keep that up. Don’t go days without posting. Also, try to make your feed flow because when it does, it looks more clean and professional. And not to forget, my MAIN advice is, HAVE FUN with it!
what should we know about The Stylish Mommy? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Right now, I am a Mommy and Influencer. I help other brands get their products seen as well as giving reviews which I share with my followers. For me, testing out new products or getting items from new boutiques is what I enjoy doing.
Looking back on your childhood, what experiences do you feel played an important role in shaping the person you grew up to be?
Not really an experience, but I have to thank my grandmother. She was so stylish and always looked her best. She was my role model. I was told every since I was a teen that I took after her and that I am the only granddaughter who had. I think seeing her style and fashion pushed me to be like her and enjoy it!
