Inspiring Conversations with Kristina Pestana and Daniela Safina of Integro Fertility

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristina Pestana and Daniela Safina.

Hi Kristina and Daniela, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Integro was born from both personal passion and professional purpose. We, Daniela and Kristina, met while studying medicine in Venezuela. Very early on, we realized that many women lacked not only clear answers about their health and fertility, but also the emotional support and personalized care they truly needed.

After moving to the U.S., we completed our training and licensure in clinical nutrition with a focus on functional health. But beyond our medical journey, our personal experiences with fertility became the driving force behind everything we do.

We were both fertility patients ourselves. Daniela experienced multiple pregnancy losses, while Kristina faced amenorrhea and PCOS, and was told at just 21 years old that IVF was likely her only option. Despite the pain, confusion, and lack of clarity, we both went on to conceive naturally and now have children of our own.

That transformation lit a fire in us. We created Integro to tell women: we see you, we’ve been there, and there is another way.

Fertility shouldn’t be approached with standardized protocols. It deserves to be understood individually — person to person — by identifying and addressing the root causes behind each woman’s challenges. At Integro, we combine science, empathy, and education to make that possible.

We’re not just improving fertility outcomes, we’re revolutionizing how fertility is seen and treated. Because women who don’t fit the traditional mold still deserve hope, healing, and personalized support.

We’ve had the honor of helping women conceive naturally after being told IVF was their only chance. We’ve witnessed true miracles, because when you give the body the right tools and space to heal, fertility often follows.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. The road hasn’t been smooth, and like most meaningful journeys, building Integro has come with its share of challenges.

On a personal level, facing our own fertility struggles while studying and training in a foreign country was incredibly difficult. We were trying to understand a new medical system, build our careers, and heal emotionally, all at once. There were moments of deep uncertainty, frustration, and grief.

Professionally, one of the biggest challenges has been questioning the status quo. Traditional medicine often sees fertility in a very limited way, without leaving much space for root-cause exploration, nutrition, or emotional support. Introducing a new, integrative approach in that environment took courage, patience, and lots of education.

Another challenge was building a space in Spanish that felt both scientifically grounded and emotionally safe. There was a clear gap in fertility care for Spanish-speaking women, and creating that from scratch — with limited resources in the beginning — was a leap of faith.

But every struggle shaped who we are. Those early obstacles made us more empathetic, more determined, and more aligned with our mission. They taught us that real transformation, whether in health or in life, is rarely easy… but always worth it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
At Integro Fertility, we help women reclaim their health, restore balance, and optimize their fertility through personalized, science-backed, and deeply compassionate care. We are a functional fertility clinic created by women who’ve lived this journey — and who know firsthand how overwhelming, isolating, and confusing it can be to navigate fertility struggles without real answers.

What we do is simple but powerful: we listen, we investigate, and we design fully personalized plans to help each woman understand why she’s struggling to conceive. Then, we guide her with the tools, education, and support she needs to transform her health from the inside out.

We specialize in working with women who feel dismissed or told that “everything looks normal” — even when their bodies are clearly signaling that something’s off. Many of our patients come to us after years of trying, often emotionally exhausted and carrying the weight of unanswered questions.

Some have experienced multiple pregnancy losses without a clear explanation. Others have gone through failed IVF cycles, feeling like their only option is to keep trying the same approach with no clarity on why it’s not working. Many have spent years tracking ovulation, trying every diet and supplement, or simply being told to “just relax.”

At Integro, we take a completely different approach. Through our functional method, we help identify and address the root causes that are often overlooked — chronic inflammation, hormonal imbalances, nutrient deficiencies, gut issues, autoimmunity, thyroid dysfunction, PCOS, and more.

By creating a personalized roadmap for each woman, we give the body a real chance to heal and prioritize fertility again. And we do it with continuous guidance, emotional support, and a strong belief that healing is possible — even when hope feels far away.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
One of the most important things we tell our clients is: trust your intuition. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t settle. If a diagnosis or protocol doesn’t make sense to you, or if the answers feel incomplete, you have every right to look for a second opinion.

Many women are told their labs are “normal” or that their case is “unexplained,” and yet they’re still not conceiving — or worse, they’ve been through multiple losses or failed IVF cycles without real clarity. Especially if you don’t fit the typical fertility mold, the journey can feel confusing, discouraging, and lonely.

That’s why it’s so important to find a team that treats you as a whole person — not just as a diagnosis or a case. Look for professionals who are willing to dig deeper, explore root causes, and work with you, not just on you.

Fertility is complex. It’s personal. And it requires care that sees the full picture.
Start by asking questions, staying curious, and advocating for the support you truly need.
